Bulbash is Belarusian vodka, which since 2010 has been the hallmark of all Belarusian alcohol. In 2018, the drink once again won the national competition “People’s Brand”, thus confirming its status as the No. 1 brand. When creating vodka, they are guided by traditional recipes, but they are adapted and improved with the help of modern technologies. The production uses Italian equipment and uses a multi-stage filtration system – coal and silver.
The name of the trademark is associated with potatoes, which Belarusians call “bulba”, and “bulbash” is the one who eats a lot of bulba. But there is one more association: bulba (large) or bulbashka (small) – these are bubbles and bubbles in Belarusian. The relief pattern on the bottle glass resembles air bubbles.
The brand belongs to Bulbash Limited Liability Company. But this is the case when it was not the manufacturer who gave the name to the trademark, but vice versa. Until 2013, the enterprise near Zaslavl near Minsk was called LLC Dionysus Grape Wine Factory.
The company was founded in 2003, and vodka first appeared on the Belarusian market in 2004. Prior to that, the plant produced tinctures, low-alcohol drinks. Now tinctures are also produced, but they are all based on branded vodka.
For the first time outside Belarus, vodka began to be sold in 2011, the first importing countries were Latvia and Russia.
The total sales volume in 2016 was 2,1 million decalitres. 10% is exported to the CIS countries, Asia, South America.
According to the magazine Drinks International (UK) in 2016, Bulbash was ranked fourth in the ranking of the fastest growing global spirits brands.
Types of vodka Bulbash
Bulbash Special (40%). In addition to Elite alcohol and water, the vodka recipe contains an infusion of oatmeal, raisins, and natural honey. This explains the pleasant raisin shades of aroma and mild taste with a subtle honey aftertaste. In 2010, the drink received gold in London at the International Spirits Challenge, and in 2011 – gold at ProdExpo in Moscow. Served at the table chilled to 10 ° C, it favorably emphasizes the taste of meat dishes and spicy snacks.
Bulbash Traditional (40%). A spicy drink, the recipe of which is a mixture of peppers: pink with an anise-ginger aroma, green with a resinous aftertaste, fragrant white, spicy black, hot chili. The taste is soft and light, and the aftertaste is sweetish with peppery notes. Serve chilled to 10-12 ° C with all dishes of Belarusian, Russian and European cuisine. Pairs well with red fish and seafood.
Bulbash Bread (40%). A classic vodka with a slightly tart aroma and mild taste with hints of fresh rye bread. The “bread” style can also be seen in the design of the label, which is decorated in brown and beige tones. In 2012, the drink received bronze in London at the International Spirits Challenge. Bartenders advise the drink as an aperitif – with ice, and use it in alcoholic cocktails. Vodka is served chilled to the table, it goes well with meat appetizers, pickles, hot dishes.
Bulbash Birch leaves (40%). A drink with a velvety taste and a slightly resinous aroma. The recipe uses infusions of birch buds and lime blossom. In 2011, vodka received a gold medal at the ProdExpo competition in Moscow. Restaurateurs advise it as an aperitif – with ice or soda, served chilled – with fish and meat, smoked meats, game and grilled veal. Pickles, pickled mushrooms, spicy cheeses can be used as a universal snack.
