Budweiser beer: history, taste review and types

The Budweiser brand in the history of brewing can be considered one of the most controversial. American and Czech manufacturers have been fighting for the right to own it for several decades.

The latter is supported by the fact that in the town of Ceske Budějovice, located in the Czech Republic, a drink with a similar name has been produced since at least the 1876th century. While the American company “Anheuser-Busch” launched the production of Budweiser only in XNUMX.

At the moment, the brand belongs to the Czech brewery Budějovický Budvar, so Vzboltay dedicated this article to him.

Company History

Beer on the territory of České Budějovice supposedly began to be produced in the second half of the XNUMXth century.

At that time, the city was known as Budweis: this name formed the basis for the name of the legendary brand.

According to legend, the king who founded the settlement gave its inhabitants the right to brew a foamy drink.

Later, local beer gained such popularity that it began to be regularly delivered to the court of the Prussian monarch Frederick the First.

A modern factory on the site of a primitive brewery appeared only in 1895. Budweiser Budvar actively increased production volumes and began to supply products outside the country.

In 1897, the drink received a gold medal at an exhibition in Stuttgart.
