Bud or Budweiser (“Bad”, “Budweiser”)

Bud (Budweiser) is the flagship beer brand of the international corporation Anheuser-Busch InBev. Products under this brand name are produced at breweries in the United States and 14 other countries. Export geography covers more than 80 national markets on five continents. According to the BrandZ Top100 rating, Budweiser is recognized as the most expensive alcohol brand in the world. The dispute over the historical name is still not finally settled, so in North America the name Budweiser is used, and in the European Union the beer is labeled as Bud. The product portfolio of AB InBev includes more than 200 global, international and local brands, including: Stella Artois, Corona Extra, Hoegaarden, Klinskoye, Sibirskaya Korona.

Historical reference. The starting point in the history of the brand is considered to be 1876: it was then that the hereditary brewer Adolphus Bush presented his new Budweiser beer, brewed in Bohemian traditions, to the residents of the American city of St. Louis. This moment was reflected in the name, which literally translates from German as “Budějovice” beer – brewed according to the recipe of masters from the town of České Budějovice.

In the future, this name became the subject of a decades-long dispute between Anheuser-Busch and the Budweiser Budvar brewery located in the Czech Republic.

By the beginning of the 50th century, the American Budweiser had acquired the status of the main national beer brand, its output exceeded one million barrels per year. A century later, the brand’s position continues to strengthen, today its share of sales in the North American market is about 2008%. This is facilitated by large-scale advertising campaigns, sponsorship of popular sporting events – the Olympic Games, the World Football Championships. In XNUMX, as a result of a merger with the Belgian-Brazilian company InBev, AB InBev Corporation was formed, which became the world’s largest beer producer.

Types of beer “Bad”

Budweiser, 5%

The drink, hailed as the “king of beer”, was first introduced by Adolphus Busch in 1876. To this day, every batch of Budweiser is brewed according to an old family recipe that has been followed by five generations of the brewing dynasty. American-style pale lager is made from the finest barley malt and a unique blend of elite hops. A feature of the production technology is the use of beech shavings in the fermentation process, which gives the product a characteristic softness. The taste concentrates everything that pale lagers are famous for: a rich malty body with notes of caramel and biscuit, balanced by a noble bitterness.

Budweiser Select, 4,3%

Low-calorie beer of the line, gaining popularity in the world. It is brewed with two-row and roasted caramel malts, as well as a blend of premium American and Bavarian hops. One of the features of the production is the doubling of the aging time, which leads to a reduction in carbohydrate and calorie content after fermentation. A light golden lager with fruity nuances, a very light hop bitterness and a dry finish. Thanks to its fresh taste, it perfectly quenches thirst, goes well with fried Prague sausages, steaks, toasts with parmesan oil.

Bud Light, 4,2%

The product fully justifies the brand’s advertising slogan and is a real “king of beer”: according to the Nielsen agency, Bud Light is more than 2 times ahead of its closest competitor in terms of sales in the US. Pale lager is brewed from barley malt with the addition of rice, which gives the taste freshness. The barley is hand-selected by the Master Brewer from varieties grown in the finest fields in the United States. The recipe contains a blend of premium hop varieties, both grown in America and imported. It has a balanced taste with a slight bitterness in the aftertaste and a harmonious aroma with notes of freshly cut grass, flowers, baked apple.

Bud Ice, 5,5%

The drink replenished the brand line in 1994 and became one of the most popular “icebears” in the United States. Its production is based on the method of lowering the temperature of the brewed beer until ice is formed, which is then removed. Since the filtered crystals are frozen water, the finished product has an increased strength. The freezing process also removes some of the carbohydrates and hop tannins from the beer, giving it a smooth, rich flavor while reducing calories. The optimal temperature for serving ice-beer to the table is 2-4 ° C, the best gastronomic accompaniment is Buffalo wings, tortillas with cheese and bacon.

Budweiser American Ale, 5,3%

An American version of an amber ale, introduced in 2008. Aimed at fans of top-fermented beers who prefer a more complex bouquet than the brand’s lagers. The beer is brewed only domestically and exclusively American ingredients are selected for production: Cascade hops, caramel malt from barley grown in the fields of Idaho and Minnesota. The multi-layered taste reveals itself as it warms up in the glass. The sweetish malt body with caramel tones and nuances of dried fruit also has characteristic hints of citrus. The recommended serving temperature is -7 °C. As a snack, hummus, guacamole, salted almonds are good.
