Bubbles: planting and care
Bubbles can grow both in a sunny place and in partial shade. Only if you want to get a bright and rich color of the leaves, then it is better to choose a sunny place for planting. The soil should be free from calcareous and well-drained. The presence of nutrients is very beneficial for the appearance. Although, even on poor soil, the plant showed excellent results.
Bubbles, planting and caring for which do not cause any difficulties, can be rather easily propagated and create hedges from it
For planting, you need to dig a hole, the size of which will be 60 × 60 × 60. Humus or peat is placed at the bottom. A young bush is placed in a hole prepared in this way and sprinkled with earth. You need to sprinkle a little and the root collar, which will make it possible to awaken additional buds. It is they who will give new twigs, making the bush more lush and beautiful.
The bubble plant tolerates gas-polluted air well, so it can be planted not only far from the bustle of the city, but even next to the road
After planting, the plant is well watered and the soil is mulched. This will help prevent crust formation and allow air to enter the soil.
There are 3 main ways of propagation of the vesicle:
- layering;
- cuttings;
- division of the bush.
For the first method, a healthy shoot is selected, and the leaves are removed from it (leave the topmost ones). After that, the layering is placed in a dug groove to a depth of 15 cm and pressed to the ground. This procedure is carried out in the spring. By autumn, young plants can already be separated from the mother bush.
For cuttings, annual green shoots are selected. They are soaked in a root formation stimulator, and then planted in river sand or in a mixture of sand and peat. After that, the cuttings are well watered and covered with polyethylene. Before the onset of frost, plantings must be moistened in a timely manner, then well covered for the winter and only in the spring planted in a permanent place of growth.
The bubblegum looks great almost all year round and serves as a real decoration of the site. That is why it deserves more and more popularity. It is not difficult to propagate a plant and take care of it, which makes it even more attractive for flower growers.
