Brown and red albinism

Def.: Vitiligo varieties conditioned by a mutation of the TYRP1 gene, which is responsible for the coding of the melanosomal glycoprotein. These varieties are found in Africa. Patients have light brown skin and do not sunbathe. Some of them have red hair. The risk of eye changes is negligible, and the risk of developing cancer is similar to that of the Caucasian race.
