The Bosch refrigerator is popular with many users due to its modern design and functionality. But this technique is also not immune from breakdowns. Although the malfunctions of all refrigerators are similar, there are breakdowns that Bosch models happen more often. For example, the freezer or refrigerator does not work.
Consider the causes of breakdowns in the article.
Typical breakdowns of the Bosch refrigerator
Models on electronic control often notify the user of a malfunction by highlighting the error code on the display. Having learned the meaning of the code, the user can quickly find the cause of the breakdown. But not always the error helps to understand the problem.
You need to pay attention to the operation of the refrigerator – failures hint at the causes of the malfunction.
Is your Bosch refrigerator broken? Causes that lead to equipment failure:
- Deterioration of refrigerator components. This happens after a long service life or due to improper operation.
- Power surges in the network lead to the combustion of electronic parts and parts: control boards, wiring.
- Refrigerant leakage due to mechanical damage or due to a violation of the capillary system.
- Start relay and thermostat malfunction – this leads to the fact that one chamber can freeze, while the other does not.
- Malfunctions of the motor-compressor.
- Faults in the No Frost defrost system.
Let’s take a closer look at some of the problems.
Fridge compartment not working
It often happens that the freezer does not work, but the refrigeration department functions normally. Or vice versa – the refrigeration department stopped working, but the freezer pumps frost “in full”. Why is this happening?
First, make sure you follow the rules of operation:
- Is the chamber door closed tightly? Otherwise, the constant penetration of warm air leads to an imbalance in the system. The refrigerator is trying to cool the department even more.
- If you have a No Frost system, check if the fan is frozen. In this case, the cold will not flow into one of the chambers.
Maybe it’s broken:
- You have defrosted the refrigerator, but after turning on the fan does not work? The fan motor is defective. You will have to completely replace the part.
- If the fan does not work, but there is snow in the freezer, then the cause is in the evaporator. The evaporator heating element is covered with a layer of ice, which prevents the fan from rotating. The evaporator heater needs to be repaired or replaced.
- The freezer compartment is very cold, the compressor runs without stopping. The thermostat in the freezer or the evaporator sensor has broken. The system pumps cold due to incorrect data.
- Freon leak. This could be due to mechanical damage to the wall. Possible leakage in the steel circuit.
Signs of breakdown are superficial: in order to accurately determine what is broken, you need to carry out professional diagnostics. Often this behavior of the refrigerator is associated with malfunctions in the electronic board. Repairing the control board is a difficult task. Most often, unstable voltage in the network leads to the combustion of electronic elements. Therefore, it is recommended to install a stabilizer.
Refrigerator is loud
This problem often worries users. Today there is no technology that works completely silently. But sometimes the refrigerator is really loud. What to check:
- How level is the refrigerator. If the equipment is close to the wall or other pieces of furniture, strong sounds cannot be avoided when the motor is running. Perhaps the chamber is full of dishes that rattle and ring. Then it is enough to rearrange the dishes to another place.
- The sound is considered normal when the engine is turned on after a break. So the device gains energy and accelerates, therefore it works loudly.
After checking the accuracy of the installation, did you find any deviations? Let’s move on to possible faults:
- Compressor wear. A serious problem is caused by the wear of the motor components, so when turned on, it is noisy. To repair, you need to completely replace the part.
- During the start and shutdown of the compressor, a loud noise is heard – the motor mounts could loosen. Shock absorbers are designed to dampen vibrations – when their attachment becomes weak, the motor begins to rattle more strongly, it can beat against the body.
- If there is noise or rattle, check the fan. Its blades could be overgrown with ice, so they turn with noise. It happens that the blades freeze so much that the fan does not work. It will help to defrost the refrigerator for at least a day. Perhaps the door of the upper chamber of the refrigerator has broken, so the walls and parts are beginning to be covered with snow.
Why is the new refrigerator loud?
The reasons are similar to those above, but there are some differences. Inspect the refrigerator case – during transportation, the equipment is equipped with transport bolts. If not removed after installation, they will interfere with normal operation and cause abnormal noise.
As soon as the equipment has been delivered to your home, give it time to “recover”, to normalize its work in the new conditions. If after a day the refrigerator is still buzzing, this is a reason to contact the service center.

A careful attitude to technology will allow you to quickly notice the problem and contact the master. Or try to find the cause of the loud noise on your own. Sometimes simple manipulations are enough to make the refrigerator work normally.
