Britain asks UN to introduce term pregnant

We already wrote that British doctors were asked not to call pregnant women mothers. They motivated this by the fact that there are more cases in the country when transsexuals become pregnant – people born in a female body, but consider themselves men. Some even interrupt sex-reassignment hormone therapy in order to carry and give birth to a baby. For the sake of these people, medical officials in England decided to go to extreme measures: they advised doctors to avoid the word “mother”. And then suddenly the “dads” will be offended.

On this the British chisel-makers decided not to stop. They made a proposal to the UN to ban the name of pregnant women. For all the same reasons: suddenly transsexuals will be offended. “No, we do not mind the phrase“ pregnant woman ”. But we believe that its use discriminates against transsexuals. Therefore, it is worth introducing a gender-neutral “pregnant person”, – quotes the words of the representative of the British Foreign Office The Telegraph.

However, this highly tolerant initiative has not yet found support. Renowned feminist writer Sarah Ditum believes that completely eliminating the difference between the sexes is completely unnecessary: “If this goes on, then if a woman calls herself a woman, she may be considered a fanatic. This is insulting. “

The last argument of the advocates of a gender-neutral language boiled down to the helpless “well, what are you, sorry, or what?” Indeed, just think – well, the expectant mother will be called a pregnant person. She will not stop being a mother from this. In response, one of the British MPs spoke: “Where is the world heading, in which we cannot call a pregnant woman a future mother?”

However, the initiative can also be understood: if a doctor suddenly calls a pregnant patient a woman, and she considers herself a man, then you can run into a lawsuit. It’s easier to really call everyone who is about to give birth with a short word “it”.
