Brewer’s Day in Russia
 

Every year, on the second Saturday of June, Russia celebrates the main industry holiday of all beer producers in the country – Brewer’s day… It was established by the decision of the Council of the Union of Russian Brewers on January 23, 2003.

The main goal of the Brewer’s Day is to form the traditions of Russian brewing, strengthening the authority and prestige of the brewer’s profession, developing a culture of beer consumption in the country.

The history of Russian brewing has more than one hundred years, as evidenced by documentary chronicles and royal letters, and it acquired an industrial scale in the 18th century. In general, in world history, the earliest evidence of brewing beer dates back to about 4-3 centuries BC, which makes this profession one of the most ancient.

The brewing industry in Russia today is one of the dynamically developing markets of the non-primary sector of the Russian economy., and also this:

 

– more than 300 breweries in different regions of the country;

– over 1500 brands of brewing products, which include both national brands and popular regional brands;

– over 60 thousand people working at the enterprises of the industry. One job in the brewing industry creates up to 10 additional jobs in related industries.

On this day, the enterprises of the industry celebrate the best workers in the brewing industry, cultural and entertainment programs, sports programs, and festive events.
