How to care for breast skin to avoid sagging skin and stretch marks, read our article.

Proper skin care during pregnancy

From the first days of pregnancy, the breast begins to actively prepare for the lactation period. The mammary glands swell, every month they become larger. As a result, the ligaments begin to stretch. And at this moment it is important to help the breast, to provide high-quality and effective support. Here’s what you need.

  • Good bra, which relieves additional stress from the muscles and skin, maintains their tone. Choose from breathable fabrics, wide shoulder straps and tiered closures.

  • Качественный care behind the skin of the chest. From the first days of pregnancy, strengthen and moisturize the breast skin. Choose cosmetics with vitamins A and E. It is better to use hypoallergenic products based on seaweed, vegetable oils.

  • Water massage chest. Very gentle and careful: when taking a shower, rinse the skin of the chest with warm water in a circular motion, without a strong pressure of water.

Causes of stretch marks

During pregnancy, a woman’s body changes – weight increases, mammary glands and belly grow. In places where the skin is stretched too much, stretch marks (stretch marks) may appear. The most commonly affected skin is the abdomen, thighs and chest.

Fighting striae is difficult. If they appear, it will not work to get rid of them without hardware and injection methods of cosmetology.

It is much more effective to work ahead of the curve in order to avoid their appearance. Usually during pregnancy, the main provocateurs of striae are:

  • hormonal fluctuations;

  • strong weight gain;

  • changes in body volume, especially in the last trimester of pregnancy;

  • muscle weakness;

  • insufficient care;

  • overstretching of the skin.

At the same time, experts have not fully studied the mechanism of the appearance of stretch marks. So far (by observation) only dependence on age has been established: in pregnant women after 30–35 years, stretch marks rarely occur.

Breast care while breastfeeding

Doctors are sure that lactation is in no way connected with the loss of firmness and elasticity of the breast skin. The main thing is to approach this process competently. What does it mean?

  1. Try to properly attach the baby to the chest.

  2. When massaging the breasts, do not stretch the skin. That is, the movements should be light, smooth and careful.

  3. Even after pregnancy, moisturize your breast skin daily with special cosmetics. Remember to remove their leftovers before each feeding.
