Brainstorming. Video Tips
Brainstorming, or brainstorming, is an excellent method for finding solutions to a problem if you need to engage the collective mind. Several people together are able to generate many more ideas than each of them individually. Brainstorming allows you to cope with a variety of problems, the solution for which does not lie on the surface.
If you are the brainstorming leader, then select 5-10 people to conduct it. It is desirable that they be professionals of different orientations, for example, a creative, analyst, developer, designer, etc. If people are able to come up with different solutions and each of them thinks differently, the result will be much more interesting than when you bring together professionals in the same field. In any case, this way you get a large number of options, there will be scope for choosing the final idea.
It is best to start brainstorming in the morning, at about 10-11, or in the evening, around 15-17. It is not worth delaying the process. The peculiarity of brainstorming is that how much time you allocate for it, for so much you will find the right idea. Of course, it usually makes no sense to arrange it for less than 40 minutes, but it is also not worth delaying for more than 1,5-2 hours.
It is known that after 40-50 minutes the brain loses concentration, so a 15-minute coffee break in the middle of an hour and a half discussion can be very beneficial.

- generating ideas
- discussion and choice of ideas for implementation
Principles of Successful Brainstorming
Brainstorming meetings are excellent brain training exercises for employees. If you need a non-obvious solution that does not immediately come to mind, then you may be faced with the question of how to activate and improve the functioning of the brain.
There are several rules by which you can increase the efficiency of the process:
- It is best to carry out the process outside the office. One has only to get out into nature, even if it is a lawn in a park near the office center, and you will immediately notice how much more interesting ideas have become. And if employees are able to rest and relax a little before this, then they will not have to think about how to increase the useful work of the brain.
- Don’t criticize ideas.
Make sure all participants are free to speak up, prohibit criticism
- Often people are afraid to offer something because they cannot stand criticism. Do not scold other people’s ideas even during the discussion, just consider them from the point of view of their viability in the framework of this project. Any ideas might come in handy later.
- Don’t forget about the problem. Sometimes, during a discussion, people focus too much on solutions, forgetting about the task. Getting the discussion back on track in time will greatly increase its productivity.
- Be attentive to all ideas. Some solutions seem controversial at first, but they can be brilliant when tested.
- Write down any ideas you have expressed. Even if some idea did not come up this time, you can use it next time. If you don’t write down ideas, it may even happen that you forget the very best of your ideas.
- Listen to your intuition. Some decisions are made on impulse, you can’t even always justify it. But if you are a good leader, and such findings often lead you to success, then believe in your instinct.
