This style of weaving braids only at first glance seems complicated, in fact, the “spikelet” is woven from two strands and quickly enough, but this hairstyle looks absolutely charming.

IMPORTANT!

The braid “spikelet” (“fish tail”) is woven on clean hair, dry or slightly damp, if it is wayward and unruly. Such a thin weaving looks especially impressive on straight hair, therefore, owners of curls are advised to walk through their hair with a round brush or an iron, so the braid pattern will be seen better.

The pattern of weaving braids “fishtail”

We will analyze the technology of weaving braids “fishtail” (“spikelet”) in more detail in the photo lesson.

How to braid a “spikelet”: step by step photos

1. Comb your hair thoroughly. Select a triangular strand in the parietal zone.

2. Divide it into three equal parts.

3. Weave the strands together 1 time in the classical way, so you will have two strands in your hands (this will happen by joining two strands in one hand, the other strand will remain in the other hand).

4. From the edge of the wider part, separate a thin strand and throw it inside the weave, connecting it to the left part.

5. In the same way, select a thin strand on the left, throw it inward and connect with the right part, while grabbing is made on both sides – a strand of loose hair is captured in the direction of movement and woven into the overall pattern, as is usually done when creating a French braid.

To make the grip look neat and the braid pattern is not disturbed, select the strands neatly, of about the same size.

6. Continue weaving, making a catch on each side. When you reach the edge line where the hooks end, continue to throw thin strands of approximately equal width from the sides to the inside. Fix the tip of the braid with an elastic band.

7. Slightly pull the strands out of the weave to make it look more delicate and voluminous, fix with varnish.

If necessary, secure the knocked-out strands from the sides with invisible ones, this is especially true for owners of stepped haircuts.

The French fishtail braid is ready! If you have fine hair, do a light basal comb before braiding the spikelet. In this case, do not pull the strands too tight. You can wear such a braid straight or on the side, or you can lay it in an elegant bun at the back of your head and secure with hairpins. Imagine and be beautiful!
