Bourgeois

“Bourgeois” is a Russian sparkling wine of the mid-price segment. The brand is owned by AST, which is one of the five largest distributors of alcoholic beverages in Russia. The line includes five types of champagne, which is made from natural wine materials using a specially developed technology. The drink has good foaming properties and harmonious taste.

Historical information

AST was founded in 1992. Four years later, the company signed the first major contract for the distribution of Dovgan vodka, which was popular at that time, and in 1998 Russian Standard entered the brand portfolio. Since 2004, AST has represented the interests of Moet Hennessy, Bacardi and Diageo in Russia. The company owns a lot of its own brands of alcohol, which are bottled under a contract at Russian factories.

Champagne “Bourgeois” is produced by one of the oldest enterprises in St. Petersburg – CJSC “Sparkling Wines”. The plant purchases raw materials from agricultural enterprises in the southern part of Russia, France, Spain, Italy, Hungary and Argentina. Since 2014, the company has introduced a new system of working with producers of wine materials.

Every year the company selects suppliers of wines from certain grape varieties. The choice depends on the climatic features of the season, the ecology of the region and the degree of technical equipment of the farms. Representatives control the entire process of growing raw materials, including caring for the vines and harvesting. Before entering the plant, the materials are tested in independent laboratories.

Production features

Champagne is produced by the tank method. A blend of still wines is loaded into acratophores – stainless steel containers for primary fermentation at a temperature of no more than 17 ° C. The process takes about two weeks. Secondary fermentation takes place in the champagne workshop. The full cycle of production of sparkling wine “Bourgeois” is up to 40 days. The laboratory of the plant controls the products at all stages of their manufacture.
