If the Bosch dishwasher gives an E18 error, you need to find out its decoding. In short: too much water. The full value is indicated in the instruction manual.
Like any appliance, dishwashers are prone to breakage. Control modules on modern models can self-diagnose. As soon as a malfunction occurs, a fault code is shown on the display. Below you will learn how to fix everything yourself.
Why PMM “Bosch” gives an error
The dishwasher may show an E18 value for several reasons:
- System failure.
- Increased water level in the tank.
What to do in this case? Try resetting the icons from the screen by rebooting:
- Disconnect the device from the mains.
- Wait 10-14 minutes.
- Restart.
If the error code does not disappear, wait until the dishwasher finishes the program and completely drains the water from the hopper. If after that the symbols are still lit, you need to look for the causes of the breakdown.
One of them – level sensor malfunction. This part monitors the water level in the tank and transmits the readings to the control board. The pressure switch is probably broken or gives inaccurate information.
How to fix the problem? Only replacing the sensor will help.
In severe cases the reason may be in the control board. To diagnose and replace it, it is better to call the master. But if you want to inspect it yourself, do this:
- Disconnect the PMM from the network.
- Open the door.
- Loosen the screws on the inside.
- Close the door and put on the control panel.
- Behind it is a module that needs to be disconnected from the wiring.
Noticed burnt areas? Take the item in for repair.
Follow the rules for operating the equipment, then it will not need to be repaired for a long time. In addition to the correct installation of the PMM, it is important:
- clean and remove blockages after washing;
- observe the rules for loading dishes and detergents.
