Bosca (Boska)

Bosca is an Italian brand of sparkling wine supplied to the Russian market by the Lithuanian producer Boslita ir Ko. The trademark belongs to the Italian company Bosca SpA, a producer of sparkling and still wines. The company supplies raw materials to Lithuania and controls the quality of finished products. Bosca champagne is represented in almost all Russian retail chains.

Historical information

Bosca SpA was founded in 1831 by the Italian winemaker Pierre Bosca. The company is located in the city of Canelli, part of the administrative region of Piedmont. The region is surrounded on three sides by the ridges of the Alps. Unique natural conditions have been created here for growing native Italian varieties of Muscat grapes. Pierre Bosca developed his own technology for making champagne, and the company’s wines are well known in Italy and beyond.

The company produces both classic champagne and popular wine cocktails based on grapes and various fruits. Premium sparkling wines are produced using French champagne technology. Squeezed juice goes through the stage of primary fermentation and is bottled. The aging period of some varieties reaches three years. After removing the sediment, the bottles are corked and stored for another two months. A number of Bosca sparkling wines belong to the DOCG category, which is assigned in Italy to high quality products.

The Russian consumer is more familiar with Bosca carbonated wine drinks, which are supplied to the country by the Lithuanian company Boslita ir Ko. The company has been operating in the wine industry since 1997 and was one of the first to obtain a license for the production of alcoholic beverages in Lithuania. The company is the only one in Eastern Europe that has the right to use the Bosca trademark. Production is carried out under the supervision of Italian specialists.

Production features

Sparkling wine Bosca belongs to the category of wine cocktails that have gained great popularity in Europe. The drink recipe is based on grape wine, to which fruit extracts and fermented malt are added. The Italian line Bosca includes wines with strawberry, raspberry, apple and pomegranate flavors. In Lithuania, they produce drinks that are more reminiscent of classic champagne.

The Boslita ir Ko factory is located in Kaunas. The Lithuanian manufacturer receives raw materials from its Italian partner. In Italy, grapes are harvested and table wines are made from it, which serve as the basis for the further production of drinks. Differences in tastes are achieved with the help of flavors made from natural fruits. To keep the product longer, preservatives are added to it. The technology does not provide for long exposure – instead, the wine is saturated with carbon dioxide, bottled and corked.

Italian specialists control the entire production cycle and the quality of finished products. The Lithuanian company sells drinks on the domestic market, but most of it is exported to the Baltic countries, Ukraine, Poland, Great Britain, the USA and Russia. In total, the company’s assortment includes eight types of Bosca sparkling wine.
