Borasol is an over-the-counter medicine available as a topical solution to the skin. The active substance is boric acid.

Borasol – action

Borasol is a preparation whose action is related to the presence of an active substance. Boric acid has antibacterial and antifungal properties.

Borasol – composition

1 g of Borasol solution contains 30 mg of boric acid. The auxiliary substance is purified water.

Borasol – indications

The leaflet of Borasol provides information on such indications as:

  1. disinfection in inflammatory skin conditions,
  2. blemishes,
  3. Burns,
  4. contusions,
  5. superficial damage to the skin or epidermis,
  6. inflammation of the external organs of the genitourinary system,
  7. inflammatory edema of the soft tissues.

Borasol – dosage

Before using the drug, please refer to the manufacturer’s information on the dosage. Unless your doctor tells you otherwise, use 2-3 times a day. The preparation should be applied to pathologically changed places – in the form of rinses, compresses, and soaps.

If you use too much medicine, wash it off your skin with water and contact your doctor.

If you forget to take Borasol, continue taking Borasol as usual as prescribed.

Borasol – contraindications to use

Leku Borasol nie należy stosować:

  1. in case of hypersensitivity to the active substance (boric acid),
  2. on large areas of the skin,
  3. for open cuts and extensive wounds,
  4. orally,
  5. around the eyes.

Borasol – warnings

Warnings for taking Borasol:

  1. the recommended dose should not be exceeded;
  2. stosować przez krótki okres;
  3. longer treatment with Borasol should be under the supervision of a doctor;
  4. in the event of skin irritation, discontinue treatment and contact a physician;
  5. the preparation should not be used in infants and children under 11 years of age.

Borasol – drug interactions

Borasol is a preparation that interacts with other medications. It should not be used in the case of a parallel treatment:

  1. drugs containing methenamine, tannin, carbonates, basic hydroxides;
  2. colloidal silver solution;
  3. quaternary ammonium bases;
  4. Peruvian balm.

Borasol – side effects

Treatment with Borasol may be associated with certain side effects.

  1. If the preparation is used on damaged skin, the following may occur: vomiting, convulsions, loss of appetite, drowsiness, rash, redness, peeling of the epidermis, diarrhea, fever, collapse, kidney damage, oliguria, coma.
  2. W przypadku długotrwałej terapii mogą pojawić się objawy wskazujące na zatrucie kwasem borowym, tj. zaburzenia żołądkowo-jelitowe, zapalenie skóry, niedokrwistość, osłabienie, wyłysienie, zaburzenia miesiączkowania u kobiet.

Borasol – pregnancy and breastfeeding

If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, consult your doctor before taking this medicine. There are no data on the safety of use during pregnancy and breastfeeding.

Borasol – important information

Nie stwierdzono wpływu na zdolność prowadzenia pojazdów oraz obsługiwania maszyn podczas stosowania Borasolu.

Borasol should be stored out of the sight and reach of children at a temperature below 25 ° C in a closed container. Protect from light.

Borasol should not be used after the expiry date stated on the packaging. The expiry date refers to the last day of that month.
