Bonding: all about why hair is now dyed without harm

Everyone remembers homemade hair dye and color-protecting rinse pack? It was a bonding care, and now you can (and should!) Buy it separately.

For most of us, hair coloring started with a store-bought dye that had to be mixed at home; she ruined a lot of girlish hairstyles. It usually came with a sachet of delicious-smelling rinse-aid – these were not sold anywhere, and you could get them only from a cardboard box with a smiling model – “Dark Eggplant” or “Passionate Copper”. Then we did not know, but this rinse, which came with the paint, was the progenitor of today’s bonding – a series of products for protecting the disulfide bonds of the hair, which destroys any aggressive effect – a clarifier or an iron.

Now the fashion for dyeing has changed – we want to do shatush, balayazh and color stretching right away, but we don’t want to sacrifice the health of our hair, for this we go to the salon. But then what?

But what – we return home and wash my head with the usual means. As a result, the color fades, and the hair loses its gloss in a week. To delay the next visit to the beauty salon (and save our money), brands instead of one-time after-dye treatments have released entire bonging lines – professional products for maintaining the health of colored hair. This, of course, is not the famous Olaplex, which gave a rich visual effect (mirror-smooth hair from the first application), but rather invisible care – it maintains the effect of dyeing from the inside and does not allow the dye to turn our hair into a washcloth, as it was before.

Expert Karina Kotova, MATRIX technologist, says: “Naturally, whatever the advertisement promises, shampoos and balms from the nearest supermarket will not cope with the preservation of the color and health of the hair after lightening by several steps. The strands begin to turn yellow, and the hairs become thinner and break off. In addition, the degree of concentration of vitamins and active substances in a professional product is much higher: modern bonding complexes contain amino acids that normalize the pH of the hair and smooth out the cuticle. “

– Noble silver and cold tones are the hardest to preserve, – the expert continues, – so often in the salons they immediately offer to use the means from the bonding line, and then buy them there for use at home.

The color protection system works in combination – most often it is a one-time salon treatment along with staining and washable home care. This, for example, is available from Redken – pH-BONDER, unlike traditional masks and conditioners, is applied before shampoo for 20-30 minutes.

Other brands have expanded the range of bonders – for example, L’Oreal SmartBond is applied after shampooing and rinses off after 3 minutes, and at Swarzkopf the bonding technology is integrated into the Blondme color protection system, which consists not only of washable care, it also contains shampoo and a spray for maintaining color.

In the salon, the bonding service is recommended to be done every 2-3 weeks – until the condition of the hair begins to satisfy. At home, the final stage (usually on the bottles there is a number 3 and the signature “for home care”) should be repeated once a week, alternating with nourishing masks.
