BODY WORLDS exhibition: unprecedented excitement and high ratings from visitors

On March 12, VDNKh hosted the opening of the Russian exposition of the anatomical exhibition “BODY WORLDS: the cycle of life”, one of the most unusual exhibitions of recent times. In the first week alone, more than 11 people visited it.

Here are some comments about the Russian version of BODY WORLDS that visitors left:

“Such anatomy should not be feared, it should be known”;

“A person must know his body, and this exhibition is the most accessible and open way to do this”;

“I began to think about a healthier lifestyle and realized how fragile our body is”;

“I was struck by the aesthetics and how beautifully the history of the human life cycle is presented.”

More than a hundred exhibited plastinations are former human bodies that are of interest both to a professional audience from the field of science, medicine, and ordinary people: bloggers, actors, representatives of creative professions, as well as students and schoolchildren who come to the exhibition as part of group excursions to accompanying teachers of educational institutions.

“This exhibition, in my opinion, is an event of an ideological nature, and in addition to the cognitive effect, it can also bring educational results, which, however, largely depends on the level of education and the general level of culture of each visitor. The exhibition was made at the highest level of modern exhibition activity: visualization of the body shell, organization of the exhibition space, interactive interaction. It increases not only the level of physiological knowledge, but also the cultural level. This is an event for the formation of true values,” shares the opinion of a visitor to the exhibition Alexandra Vladimirovna Gridchina, Doctor of Economics, Professor, Head of the Department of Public Administration and Law of the Moscow Polytechnic University, member of the Academy of Military Sciences, public adviser of the city of Moscow.

“In addition, the value of the exhibition is great in terms of enhancing the prestige of the medical professions, as it gives young people the opportunity to see and realize the vulnerability of the human body to numerous physiological challenges. The exhibition BODY WORLDS appears as a certain challenge aimed at critical reflection on oneself. Seeing its exhibits, each of us should ask ourselves whether he is worthy, in his physical body, to be the bearer of the image of the creator, a part of the high mind, to carry out any ideas and plans into the world, if his physical essence is burdened with vice, ”- comments Doctor of Political Sciences Nikolai Andreevich Medushevsky, professor at the Russian State University for the Humanities.
