Body signals that help you understand which vitamins your body is lacking

Avitaminosis is a serious violation in the work of the human body. With beriberi, there is a critical shortage or complete absence of one or more vitamins. Many are convinced that the “magic wand” that will help provide the body with useful substances are vitamins produced by pharmaceutical companies. However, in fact, nutritionists recommend using them only as a last resort: the body is quite able to get everything it needs, subject to a balanced diet.

Certain changes in appearance and cosmetic problems may indicate a lack of vitamins and minerals. This is a kind of signal “yellow card” that the body shows us, hinting that it would be nice to take care of our own health. So, we approach the mirror and carefully study our own reflection.

Hair loss and brittleness

If your hair is noticeably thinning, splitting and breaking, the cause may be a lack of vitamin B7, also known as biotin. In this case, you should reduce the presence in the diet of raw eggs, the protein of which contains the substance avidin, which prevents the absorption of biotin. In addition, diversify the menu with products with a high content of vitamin B7: treat yourself to almonds, herbs, bananas, baked potatoes.

Convulsions

If your arms or legs often “reduce”, this may indicate not only problems with the spine, but also a lack of calcium, magnesium and potassium. Athletes often face this problem: during intense sweating during physical exertion, the body loses these minerals in large quantities.

Nuts will come to the rescue – primarily hazelnuts and almonds – as well as leafy greens, apples and bananas.

Rashes on the face

An unaesthetic rash on the face is another evidence of a biotin “hunger”. The supply of vitamin B7 in the body should be constantly replenished by diversifying your diet with foods high in it. It can be mushrooms, cheese, boiled eggs, bananas.

Numbness of the limbs

Many of us are familiar with the feeling of numbness in our fingers and toes. Of course, the cause may be an uncomfortable posture, but discomfort can be caused by a lack of B vitamins: folic acid (B9), as well as pyridoxine (B6) and cobalamin (B12). The role of “ambulance” in this case will be played by citrus fruits and seafood, with which it is necessary to enrich the diet. Also add poultry and legumes to the menu.

If the skin takes on a yellowish tinge, most of us will immediately suspect hepatitis A, colloquially known as jaundice. However, in reality, everything can be less dramatic – the body can signal a lack of vitamin B12 in this way. In this case, include beef liver, bananas, salmon and tuna, as well as organic yogurt in the diet.

Inflammation of the gums

Vitamin D deficiency can be manifested by constant inflammation of the gums. According to dentists, it is people whose body lacks vitamins of this group that are more likely to suffer from periodontal disease and stomatitis.

In this case, foods high in calcium, phosphorus and vitamin D itself will come to the rescue. Treat yourself to dark rice, prepare a salad of tomatoes, eat oily fish and citrus fruits.

Cracks in the corners of the mouth

Cracks in the corners of the mouth cause not only aesthetic, but also physical discomfort – they are often very painful. As a rule, in this way the body tries to hint to us that it needs a dose of vitamins enriched with zinc and iron: B3, B2 and B12. Add poultry and oily fish to the menu. Also, pair these foods with legumes and vegetables because the vitamin C they contain promotes iron absorption.
