Body hair: how to get rid of? Hair Removal Videos

The problem of unwanted vegetation on the body was solved by women since ancient times – both the inhabitants of Ancient Greece and the Egyptians of the era of the pharaohs got rid of excess hair on the body, and some of their methods have not lost their popularity to this day. In addition to cosmetic procedures designed to temporarily remove hair or make it less visible, there are also high-tech methods that help get rid of hair for a long time, if not forever.

Body hair: how to get rid of it right?

We make the skin smooth without leaving home

The easiest method is to pluck the hair with tweezers, but this is not suitable for large areas of the body. This can remove hairs on the bridge of the nose or upper lip, but not on the legs or in the bikini area.

You can get rid of hair with an electric epilator – it grabs the hairs and pulls them out along with the hair follicle. At the same time, painful sensations cannot be avoided, but new hairs will not grow back soon, and their number will noticeably decrease.

Depilation with heated wax (waxing) is one of the oldest ways to get rid of vegetation.

With constant exposure to wax, the newly growing hairs become thinner, become less noticeable, and it is easier to remove them later. Sugaring is similar to waxing – hair removal using a concentrated heated solution of sugar or honey.

Shaving is the most common way to remove body hair. It is almost painless, but after a day or two, the hairs begin to grow back. In addition, care must be taken when shaving to avoid injury and ingrown hairs.

Depilatory creams allow you to make the skin smooth without pain in a few minutes, but the duration of the effect is about the same as that of shaving – the creams, like the machine, remove only the upper part of the hair, and it quickly grows back. With regular use, hair grows more slowly and becomes thinner.

Methods such as electrolysis, laser and photoepilation are carried out only by cosmetologists in salons. These are complex and expensive methods, but they allow you to get rid of unwanted vegetation for a long time, and some species – forever.

With electrolysis, the hair follicle is destroyed by applying a high frequency current. It is effective but painful. With laser hair removal and photoepilation, discomfort is minimized, hair growth resumes after one and a half to two years, since the hair follicle is not completely destroyed.

Today, the most effective way to get rid of unwanted hair is considered to be elos epilation – a method that combines the advantages of laser, electro and photo epilation.

Elos-epilation requires a lot of money, but during the full course of procedures you can be calm – hair growth in the treated area is renewed extremely rarely and after a considerable period of time. Moreover, it is a painless method.

A doctor can help you get rid of body hair

In some cases, excess hair growth in women is due to health problems, namely increased levels of male hormones. In this case, dark, coarse hair appears on the upper lip, on the stomach and back, and sometimes around the nipples.

Excessive hair growth that is not associated with hormonal disorders is called hypertrichosis. Both men and women suffer from it. It is completely impossible to cure it, hair in such cases is removed using cosmetic procedures

To get rid of hair, you need to undergo treatment with an endocrinologist, you may need a course of hormonal drugs, which will also help get rid of other problems associated with an excess of androgens:

  • menstrual irregularities
  • infertility
  • hair loss on the head

The therapy will not make the already grown hair disappear, but it will reduce to a minimum the rate of their growth and will prevent the appearance of new hair.
