Bobotic – indications, dosage, contraindications, side effects

Bobotic is used in conditions with excessive accumulation of gases in the digestive tract and as an aid in preparing the patient for some diagnostic tests. The active substance of the preparation is simethicone, which facilitates the excretion of gases, after oral administration it is not absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract and is excreted with the faeces. The drug comes in the form of drops and is available without a prescription.

ACTION

Bobotic contains a silicon compound that reduces the surface tension at the border of the liquid and gas phases in the gastrointestinal tract.

Bobotic – indications and dosage

Bobotic is used in conditions with excessive accumulation of gases in the digestive tract:

  1. a feeling of fullness in the abdomen,
  2. long-lasting gas,
  3. postoperative flail.

Dosing: Orally; after 3 main meals and at bedtime. Adults and children after the age of 6 40 mg (16 drops) 4 times / day. Kids. From 28 j. To 2 years – 20 mg (8 drops) 4 times / day; 3. – 6. – 35 mg (14 drops) 4 times a day.

As an aid in preparing patients for some diagnostic tests:

  1. radiological examination,
  2. abdominal ultrasound examination,
  3. gastric and duodenal colonoscopy.

Dosage: Orally; the day before the test, twice a day in the morning and evening and in the morning on the day of the test. Adults and children after the age of 2 6 mg (50 drops) twice / day. Kids. From year 20 to year 2 – 28 mg (2 drops) twice / day; 25. – 10. – 2 mg (3 drops) twice daily

Before taking Bobotic, mix it with a non-carbonated liquid.

Bobotic and contraindications

Contraindications to taking Bobotic are:

  1. hypersensitivity to any component of the preparation,
  2. use in children up to the 28th day of life.

Bobotic – warnings

  1. Avoid drinking carbonated drinks while using the preparation.
  2. Do not use higher doses of the preparation than recommended.
  3. Allergic reactions may occur while taking Bobotic.
  4. Diabetic patients can take the preparation because it does not contain sugar.
  5. Pregnant women may use the drug only if the doctor determines that the benefit to the mother outweighs the risk to the fetus.
  6. Pregnant women should consult a doctor before taking the drug.
  7. There is no information on the use of the preparation during breastfeeding.

Bobotic with other drugs

  1. The use of Bobotic may affect the results of some diagnostic tests.
  2. Simethicone may interfere with the absorption of oral anticoagulants.
