Blueberry tincture: 4 recipes at home

Blueberry tincture turns out to be a rich deep dark red color. If you add zest, mint, lemon balm, cinnamon or cloves during the cooking process, then the aroma of the finished drink will sparkle with new notes.

Tips before starting

  1. To prepare blueberry tincture at home, you can use any berry (fresh, frozen or dried).

  2. Dried berries will need half as much as indicated in the recipe, and frozen ones must first be thawed and thrown into a colander so that all excess liquid is glassed.

  3. As an alcohol base, you can take what you have on hand vodka, good moonshine without a strong odor, or food alcohol diluted up to 40%.

  4. In order for the finished tincture not to be cloudy, it is better to use a whole berry, trying not to crush it during preparation.

Classic blueberry tincture

Ingredients

  1. Blueberries – 350 g

  2. Vodka – 500 ml

Method of preparation

  1. Blueberries must be sorted out, spoiled berries removed and washed thoroughly.

  2. Transfer the washed berries to a glass container and pour them with an alcohol base.

  3. We insist in a dark place at room temperature for 2 weeks, do not forget to shake the contents of the container once every 2-3 days.

  4. After 14 days, we pass the finished blueberry tincture through the filter; you can use simple gauze folded in several layers.

  5. Pour into glass bottles and store in a dark place for no more than 3 years.

Blueberry tincture with sugar

Ingredients

  1. Blueberries – 1,5 kg

  2. Vodka – 1 l

  3. Granulated sugar – 250 g

  4. Water – 250 ml

Method of preparation

  1. We repeat point 1 from the first recipe.

  2. Pour prepared blueberries, granulated sugar into a glass container and pour vodka and water.

  3. Now we transfer to a well-lit place and leave for 1 month so that all the ingredients are well mixed and the sugar is completely dissolved, shake the container once every 5 days.

  4. As soon as the specified time has passed, the tincture must be filtered and poured into glass bottles.

  5. Store blueberry tincture in a dark, cool place for no more than 3 years.

Aromatic tincture with citrus zest

Ingredients

  1. Blueberries – 1,5 kg

  2. Vodka – 1 l

  3. Orange peel – 15 g

  4. Lemon zest – 15 g

  5. Granulated sugar – 250 g

  6. Water – 250 ml

Method of preparation

  1. We repeat point 1 from the first recipe.

  2. We shift the blueberries and lemon zest into a glass container and fill it with an alcohol base.

  3. Let it brew for 14 days at room temperature.

  4. After the specified time, add water and granulated sugar to the container, mix thoroughly and transfer to a lighted place for another 2 weeks. To dissolve the sugar, you need to shake it once every 3-4 days.

  5. After waiting for the deadline, we filter the blueberry tincture through a purchased or home-made filter.

  6. Now the finished drink is poured into glass bottles and stored in a cool place.

Blueberry tincture with cherry and mint

Ingredients

  1. Blueberries – 1 kg

  2. Cherries – 500 g

  3. Vodka – 1 l

  4. Granulated sugar – 250 g

  5. Water – 250 ml

  6. Mint – 2-3 sprigs

Method of preparation

  1. Berries must be washed and spoiled fruits removed. Remove pits and stems from cherries.

  2. We shift the cherries and blueberries into a glass container, add mint leaves, sugar, water to them and pour the alcohol base.

  3. We insist in a dark place at room temperature for 30 days, not forgetting to shake the contents of the container once every 3-4 days.

  4. After a month, the tincture can be filtered, and the berries can be squeezed well.

  5. Pour the finished blueberry tincture into glass bottles for storage in a cool place.
