It turns out that it is not the color of your clothes that matters if you want to help your body withstand high temperatures. This is influenced by other factors such as the fabric from which they are made and also their size.

In 1980, an article appeared in the scientific journal Nature. “Why do Bedouins wear black robes in hot deserts?” Scientists tried to find out what color of clothes is most suitable for hot days. Black fabric, as it turned out, absorbs heat more than white, but this does not reach the skin as much as in the second case.

The type of fabric also matters, says Science Focus. In summer, in humid conditions, linen is the best choice. It helps to remove heat, which in the form of water vapor rises next to the skin, giving a soothing effect of coldness.

In Arab countries, a common way to deal with heat is also to provide the body with warm drinks and food. Foods can also be spicy. Warm foods will make the body’s temperature rise a bit, so the body will do everything it can to cool down. We will start to sweat even more than before eating or drinking warm tea. The cooling effect will be more intense.
