Black eye: how to get rid of it quickly? Video
A black eye is a kind of blow to your reputation. Such “decoration” can greatly spoil the image and cause considerable psychological discomfort. He makes you avoid acquaintances, hide under a thick layer of makeup and dark glasses, plunges into the abyss of despair before a responsible meeting or event. Proven methods can come to the rescue – heat and cold, ointments, as well as folk remedies.
A bruise, or hematoma, is a blood tumor that forms when blood vessels rupture, most often in a loose layer of subcutaneous fat. Hematoma can be superficial or affecting deep tissue layers, including muscles and mucous membranes. In this case, it is important to consult an ophthalmologist on time, otherwise the treatment may take months. Sometimes a bruise under the eye can occur even with a blow to the forehead, cheekbone or bridge of the nose, because the tissues near the eyes are looser and blood moves along the path of least resistance.
People with thin walls of blood vessels, with a genetic predisposition, as well as taking blood-thinning drugs are especially susceptible to hematomas.
In addition, the skin becomes more tender and prone to bruising after prolonged exposure to sunlight. In old age, bruising and bruising under the eyes can appear on their own, for no particular reason.
In the first minutes, the bruise has a red-purple hue, the tissues around the eyes swell and darken rapidly. When the hemorrhage ends, the hematoma changes color to blue-purple, and hemoglobin breaks down. The next 2-3 days the bruise is blue-violet, from the fourth day it takes on a greenish tint, by the sixth day it becomes yellow.
If you treat the bruise right away, the chances of its early healing will be much better. Apply something cold to your eye for a few minutes, such as butter or milk from the refrigerator, wrapped in a clean towel. You can simply wet a piece of cloth with cold water and apply it to the eye.
You can keep the cold for no more than 7 minutes, then take a break
Exposure to low temperatures for too long can lead to frostbite and redness of the skin. After an hour or two, you can repeat the procedure, due to which the vessels will narrow even more, the size and intensity of the bruise will decrease.
Measures to reduce black eye
The next day, warming up can bring a noticeable effect. Exposure to heat speeds up blood circulation, so the bruise dissolves much faster. Warm heating pads or lotions should be applied every hour for 5 minutes, avoiding excessive overheating. You can try sticking a perforated pepper patch, it warms up the skin well, but is not always suitable for the delicate skin around the eyes. To make the lotions more effective, they should be moistened not in ordinary water, but in a decoction or infusion of medicinal herbs.
The following ointments help to quickly get rid of the bruise under the eye: “Ambulance”, “Arnika”, “Lyoton”, “Troxevasin”, “Indovazin”, “Rescuer”, “Badyaga Forte”. It is important to study the instructions well before use and carefully apply the product, avoiding contact with the mucous membrane. You can use ointments from the first day of the appearance of a hematoma. If you apply them after an hour, you can get rid of the black eye on the third or fourth day.
If the hematoma is accompanied by severe pain, fever, dizziness, you should consult a doctor, as the damage can be serious
It is especially worth noting preparations based on badyagi. It acts very effectively on hematomas. By enhancing blood flow, badyaga accelerates tissue repair around the eyes. You can make a warm compress from badyagi: dilute 2 tablespoons of dry powder with 1 tablespoon of hot water, mix and apply to the skin near the eye.
Folk remedies for black eye
Folk remedies based on herbs and plants can also help get rid of bruises. Their advantages lie in low allergenicity and availability of ingredients.
Here are the time-tested folk remedies:
- decoction of wild rosemary herb and coltsfoot (use as compresses after 2 hours)
- rubbing with diluted and frozen vodka
- mashed cabbage leaf compresses
- compresses from crushed plantain leaf
- applying a warm boiled egg (peeled)
- lotions from the infusion of calendula (1 tablespoon flowers per 100 ml of water)
- applying a cut aloe leaf
How to hide a black eye: makeup
Unfortunately, it is not always possible to spend at home those few days that are required for the complete disappearance of the bruise. Conventional foundation, as a rule, is not able to hide the hematoma due to its intense color. That is why more radical measures are required.
First, you should cleanse your skin as usual, apply a moisturizing day cream. Then paint over the skin around the eye with a very dense concealer.
It is better to choose a concealer of a contrasting color: while the bruise is blue, yellow will hide it most effectively, purple is painted over with orange, green will suit red
Next, you should apply a dense concealing foundation that matches the skin tone. You can finish your makeup with powder and blush. It is good if there is an opportunity to divert attention from the eyes with the help of bright lipstick or jewelry.
