Bipin for bees: instructions for use

From the 70s of the XX century. beekeepers of the USSR faced the problem of damage to bees by the mite Varroa (Varroa), which became widespread in apiaries and became the cause of the disease of insects with varroatosis (varroosis). The size of the parasite is approximately 2 mm. They suck the hemolymph (blood) from the bees and multiply rapidly.

Attention! The disease of bees is difficult to detect in the first days of infection. You can notice the beginning of the process by characteristic signs – the activity of insects decreases, the collection of honey falls.

In addition to direct harm, the tick spreads other diseases that are no less dangerous for bees. For example, paralysis of a viral or acute nature. It is impossible to completely destroy the infection. Constant prophylaxis with Bipin is necessary. To do this, in the autumn it is necessary to treat the apiary with Bipin for bees according to the instructions for use. The wintering of all bee colonies depends on proper preparation.

Composition, release form Bipin

The drug Bipin belongs to the group of acaricidal drugs. The basis of the composition is amitraz. Appearance – liquid with a yellow tint. Produced in glass ampoules of 1 or 0,5 ml each. Pack of 10 or 20 pieces.

Amitraz has the main effect. A medicine from the group of acaricides – special substances or mixtures thereof to combat tick-borne infections. Bipin is used against the pest Varroa jacobsoni, the most common exterminator of insects and bees in particular.

Important! Amitraz has no side effects and does not affect bee colonies in any way, subject to the instructions for Bipin’s use.

Reviews of beekeepers about Bipin are positive. Beekeepers note the visible effect and effectiveness.

Instructions for use

The drug Bipin for bees is diluted to the state of an emulsion. In its pure form, the use of the concentrate is prohibited. For one ampoule – 1 ml – take 2 liters of pure water at room temperature (not higher than 40 oC). The finished solution is sprayed within one day, the next morning a new one should be diluted.

Experienced beekeepers advise to process the apiary twice:

  • immediately after collecting honey;
  • before laying for the winter (carry out if the tick has already been detected or there are suspicions of its appearance).

The recommended interval is a week. Proper prevention will reduce the possibility of the appearance of a harmful tick to a minimum. Therefore, it is worth spending time and effort in the autumn period, and spend the next season without a pest.

Dosage and administration of Bipin

The finished emulsion should be milky or white. Any extraneous shades are a reason to prepare a new solution, and pour out the resulting one (the health and life of bees depends on this). Prepare immediately before use to preserve the activity of the active ingredient Bipin.

The simplest processing option:

  • pour the solution into a large plastic container;
  • make a small hole in the lid;
  • carefully water the hives.

Treatment of Bees with Bipin (Alpine Beehive)

This method has one significant drawback: it is impossible to control the dose of the substance, which is why its overdose is likely, which can adversely affect the bees. For an accurate calculation, a medical syringe is taken. The process will take longer, you will have to fill the container more often, but it is easier to calculate the dosage of Bipin. For one street, 10 ml of solution is enough.

For large apiaries, a special device is used – a smoke gun. Bipin for a smoke gun is bred in the same way, according to the instructions. The emulsion is poured into the tank, start pollination. 2 – 3 portions are launched per hive, the feed is carried out through the lower part of the hive – notch. Then the bees are not touched until complete ventilation.

Side effects, contraindications, restrictions on use

There are several rules, the violation of which entails an overdose of the active substance. You can not process the hives with a strength of less than five streets. Before the procedure, you should make sure that the bees respond adequately to the medicine. Several families of bees are selected, treated with Bipin strictly in accordance with the instructions for use, observed for 24 hours. In the absence of negative consequences, they begin to process the entire apiary.

Attention! Honey collected from processed hives is eaten without restrictions. Amitraz does not affect the taste and useful properties of the product.

Sergey Krasnosoltsev, 39 years old, Krasnodar
In beekeeping recently. Already in the first year, problems began, for a long time I could not understand what was happening: the infection was simply not visible, the bees became as if inhibited. A comrade “in the shop” advised Bipin manufactured by Api-San. Helped with instructions and handling. It turned out to be simple and clear. The main thing is to carry out the procedure on time. Everything was back to normal the next season. Now I use it every year. Honey is the same, but nothing bothers the bees.

I have been in beekeeping for 10 years with my husband. We treat bees with Bipin every year. Nothing without him. You can’t see a tick, but it can hurt insects a lot. I like that the solution is easy to prepare and easy to spray. We are planning to buy a processing gun to make it easier, as the apiary is growing. We used preparations from different companies (Ukrainian, ): we did not see any difference. In the future, we will continue prevention, without it – in any way.
