Biotropil is designed to improve the metabolism of nerve cells. Biotropil is used in the treatment of brain disorders in the elderly, but also in the treatment of stroke and dizziness. Biotropil is also used in the treatment of memory disorders. This means that Biotropil affects the nervous system, supports memory and concentration. In children, this drug is used during speech therapy.
How to dose Biotropil?
Biotropil should be taken orally, and the frequency of its use is determined by the doctor. Biotropil tablets should be taken during or between meals. Before using it, in addition to medical consultations, it is also recommended to read the content of the leaflet. Do not use the preparation after the expiry date. Biotropil should be stored in a dry place out of the reach of children, preferably in a tightly closed container.
Biotropil is prescribed by a doctor to treat a specific ailment. Exemplary dosages are e.g. 4,8 g / day or a dose reduced to 2,4 g / day. The dose of Biotropil can be adjusted by reducing it on average every 3-4 days. It all depends on the course of a particular disease. In dyslexic treatment, Biotropil is usually used at 3,2 g daily.
Biotropil as a medicine has a special use, it can be introduced only under the supervision of a doctor, therefore you must not give the tablets to someone else. Especially that when using Biotropil, side effects may appear.
Side effects of Biotropil – what kind?
When used, Biotropil tablets may cause the following side effects:
- nervousness,
- weight gain
- dizziness,
- abdominal pain,
- diarrhea,
- nausea,
- vomiting,
- balance disorders,
- headaches,
- insomnia or excessive sleepiness
- skin allergies,
- hallucinations.
If the mentioned or disturbing symptoms occur, see a doctor immediately. In addition, Biotropil may delay psychophysical fitness and the ability to drive vehicles or operate machinery. If you experience any of the side effects mentioned or not mentioned above, please contact your doctor immediately.
When not to take Biotropil?
Do not take Biotropil tablets if you are allergic to piracetam or another drug ingredient. It is also not recommended for people with kidney disorders, galactose intolerance or people with glucose-galactose malabsorption, Huntington’s chorea and intracerebral bleeding. It must also not be used while breastfeeding. The doctor decides about the use of Biotropil during pregnancy.
Biotropil and drug interactions
Biotropil interacts with lakes that act on the nervous system or the thyroid gland. Their simultaneous use may cause side effects in the form of drowsiness or vice versa – insomnia.
