In the period of puberty and menopause, during pregnancy, after surgery, weight loss or weight gain, discoloration, stretch marks, scars may appear on the skin – unsightly changes whose appearance we want to improve. Bio-Oil – a preparation in the form of a non-greasy oil, intended for the care and improvement of the appearance of skin with the aforementioned ailments.

Bio-oil – composition and action

Bio-Oil is a product containing natural plant extracts, vitamins and cosmetic ingredients. Soothing oils of rosemary, calendula, lavender and thyme soothe the skin, nourishing it and supporting the regeneration process. Vitamin E contained in Bio-Oil has an antioxidant effect, supporting the cell renewal process, protecting the skin against free radicals, external factors and against premature aging, wrinkles and pollution.

The patented ingredient of the preparation – PurCellin Oil makes Bio-Oil a non-greasy, quickly absorbing and skin softening agent with a wide range of applications. Bio-Oil can be used on scars – it softens the tissue, evens out the color and improves the appearance of both old and new scars. The scar tissue is dense, hard – regular massaging of the scar after skin damage with Bio-Oil helps to even out the texture of the skin in this area, and to moisturize and visibly smooth the tissue.

As you know, scars are an integral part of the healing process and appear at the site of the wound due to overproduction of collagen. Each scar will change somewhat over time, although it is naturally permanent. Bio-Oil helps improve the appearance of scars, but will never remove them.

More specifically, when we deal with intense weight gain in a short time, our skin can stretch rapidly, which then leads to the breaking of the network of collagen fibers found in the dermis. Then, in the healing process, scars form.

These scars are visible on the skin surface as stretch marks. The likelihood of developing stretch marks depends on the skin type, race, age, diet and skin hydration. The most susceptible to stretch marks are pregnant women, bodybuilders, adolescents in the period of rapid growth and people who quickly gain weight.. Stretch marks are permanent damage to the skin. Using Bio-Oil, our goal is not to remove them, but to improve the appearance of stretch marks.

Stretch marks formed as a result of weight fluctuations or during pregnancy, when using Bio-Oil, become less visible, the skin is smoother and well moisturized, which may prevent the formation of further stretch marks. For this reason, prophylactic use of Bio-Oil is recommended from the second trimester of pregnancy.

Bio-Oil works against skin discoloration, wrinkles and dry and dehydrated skin: it rebuilds the lipid barrier, protecting the skin against damage and irritation caused by weather conditions, frequent exposure to sunlight, wind, water – for example in a swimming pool. It helps to moisturize and protect the skin when staying often in rooms with air conditioning, heating, as well as dry in winter or exposed to contact with chemical ingredients.

Discoloration (uneven skin tone) occurs when melanin production is disturbed in the body. They can be caused by external factors, such as: excessive exposure to the sun, or the use of dubious skin lightening products, or internal factors, such as: hormonal changes related to pregnancy, menopause or the use of oral contraceptives. Bio-Oil is designed to improve the appearance of uneven skin tone.

The formation of wrinkles usually associated with the aging process of the skin is caused by the weakening of collagen and elastin fibers. These fibers provide the skin with proper elasticity. Bio-Oil contains numerous ingredients that are designed to improve skin elasticity, make it softer, smoother and more elastic, thus reducing the visibility of wrinkles.

In addition, it is worth mentioning that the surface of our epidermis has an invisible layer of fat, which is a natural barrier preventing the skin from losing moisture. In very dry climates, this layer is often insufficient and the skin gradually loses too much moisture. Paradoxically, daily baths and showers can intensify this effect by washing off the lipid layer associated with the astringent effects of soap and water.

Bio-oil – application

Bio-Oil has a wide cosmetic application, it can be used in the daily care of the face, body and hair – applied to the body – preferably after a bath, as well as a base for makeup, serum for hair ends.
