Bio bioprazol on the stomach – how to apply?

Bioprazol Bio is a drug used in family medicine and gastroenterology to inhibit the symptoms of the reflux of gastric contents into the esophagus. The preparation acts on the gastrointestinal tract, limiting the production of hydrochloric acid in the stomach. Bio Bioprazol is available over the counter in capsule form.

Indications for the use of Bioprazol Bio

The active substance of Bioprazol Bio is omeprazole – proton pump inhibitor. The drug is given to people with reflux and gastro-esophageal symptoms related to the regurgitation of gastric contents.

Dosage in Adults: orally, initially 20 mg / d, 10 mg / d after symptoms disappear.

Bio bioprazol and contraindications and warnings

Hypersensitivity to any of the ingredients is a contraindication to the use of Bioprazol Bio. Do not use in parallel with atazanavir.

Bio Bioprazole – warnings

  1. If symptoms worsen or do not improve after 14 days, a doctor should be consulted.
  2. Since the treatment may alleviate and mask the symptoms of neoplastic disease, and thus delay the initiation of appropriate treatment, the neoplastic process should be ruled out as a possible cause of the ailments before using Bioprazol Bio.
  3. You should immediately consult your doctor if symptoms include weight loss, frequent vomiting, difficulty swallowing, vomiting blood, tarry stools, anemia, weakness, chest pain, abdominal pain, persistent diarrhea during or before using the preparation.
  4. Do not use Bioprazol Biodej for longer than 4 weeks without consulting a doctor.
  5. Patients over 45 years of age taking regular indigestion or heartburn medication should inform their doctor.
  6. A doctor should be consulted in the event of peptic ulcer disease or a history of gastric surgery, jaundice or other liver dysfunction, changes in the nature of the symptoms present, coexistence of other serious diseases, and planned endoscopic examination.
  7. Patients with long-term, recurring symptoms of indigestion or heartburn should be under regular medical care.
  8. Antacids can increase the amount of bacteria normally present in the digestive tract and increase the risk of bacterial infections.
  9. Bioprazol Bio contains sucrose; patients with hereditary problems associated with fructose intolerance, glucose-galactose malabsorption or sucrase-isomaltase insufficiency should not use the preparation.
  10. During treatment with the preparation, do not take other drugs that inhibit the secretion of gastric acid, e.g. antagonists of the histamine H2 receptor.
  11. The use of Bioprazol Bio in pregnant women only after consulting a doctor and only when absolutely necessary, when in the doctor’s opinion the benefit for the mother outweighs the potential risk to the fetus.
  12. It is not recommended to use the preparation during breastfeeding.
  13. People driving motor vehicles should be especially careful as the drug may cause side effects that may impair psychophysical fitness (dizziness and headaches, blurred vision).
  14. If these symptoms occur, you should not drive.

Bio Bioprazol with other drugs

  1. Please inform your doctor about all the recently taken drugs.
  2. Do not use with atazanavir.
  3. The use of Bioprazol Bio may reduce the effectiveness of ketoconazole, itraconazole and other drugs.
  4. Omeprazole may prolong the elimination time of diazepam, phenytoin, warfarin and other drugs metabolised by cytochrome P450 2C19.
  5. Patients taking diazepam, phenytoin and warfarin should be under medical supervision; if necessary, the doctor will decide to reduce the doses used.
  6. Omeprazole may also modify the action of the following drugs: hexabarbital, citalopram, imipramine, clomipramine, clarithromycin, digoxin, tacrolimus, voriconazole.
  7. Do not use with drugs that reduce the amount of hydrochloric acid in the gastric juice, e.g. other proton pump inhibitors (lansoprazole, rebeprazole) or drugs blocking the action of the histamine H2 receptor (ranitidine, famotidine).
  8. Avoid taking cilostazol.
  9. If necessary, it can be used with antacids.
  10. Treatment with omeprazole may lead to a false positive for Helicobacter pylori.

Bio bioprazol and side effects

  1. The following may occur: headache, diarrhea, constipation, abdominal pain, vomiting, flatulence, paresthesia, somnolence, balance disorders, rash, itching, urticaria, increased liver enzymes, malaise.
  2. In isolated cases the following may occur: states of confusion, agitation, aggression, depression, hallucinations, gastrointestinal yeast infection, dry mouth, erythema multiforme, Stevens-Johnson syndrome, toxic necrosis, hair loss, joint and muscle pain, hepatitis with jaundice or without, liver failure, encephalopathy (in patients with severe liver failure), gynaecomastia, thrombocytopenia, leukopenia, agranulocytosis, impotence, interstitial nephritis, peripheral edema, blurred vision, taste disturbance, decreased sodium concentration in the blood (hyponatraemia), hypersensitivity reactions : angioedema, bronchospasm, anaphylactic shock.
