Bioprazol Bio is intended for adults to treat symptoms of gastro-oesophageal reflux disease:
- heartburn,
- regurgitation of gastric acid.
Bio bioprazol and contraindications
Contraindications to the use of Bioprazol Bio are:
- hypersensitivity to any component of the preparation,
- allergy to other drugs derived from benzimidazole,
- simultaneous use of azatanavir.
Bio Bioprazol – dosage
Bio Bioprazol is in the form of capsules and is intended for oral administration. It is best to take the capsules in the morning and on an empty stomach. The medicine should be swallowed whole with a drink of water (do not crush, crush or chew it). To make it easier to take the preparation, you can open the capsule and pour the contents inside an acidic drink (e.g. apple sauce or fruit juice). No dose adjustment is necessary in the elderly and with impaired renal function. Patients with impaired liver function should consult a doctor before use (the doctor will adjust the dosage if necessary).
- Adults (after 18 years of age): usually initially 20 mg once a day; if symptoms resolve, reduce dose to 1 mg daily. If heartburn symptoms recur: 10 mg daily. The preparation should be used for 20 days. If the symptoms do not improve after 14 weeks of using the preparation, a doctor should be consulted immediately.

While taking Bioprazol Bio, the following may appear:

- increased liver enzymes

- allergic reactions (itching, rash, hives).
- rarely or very rarely, the following may occur: visual disturbances (blurred vision), hallucinations, confusion, agitation, depression, aggression, dry mouth, inflammation of the oral mucosa, gastrointestinal yeast infection, dysgeusia, haematological disorders (pancytopenia, agranulocytosis , leukopenia, thrombocytopenia), decreased sodium and / or magnesium in the blood, hepatitis, jaundice, liver failure, encephalopathy in people with pre-existing liver disease, interstitial nephritis, muscle and joint pain, muscle weakness, peripheral edema, profuse sweating , impotence, gynaecomastia, hair loss, photosensitivity, hypersensitivity and anaphylactic reactions (including angioedema e.g. of the face, larynx, tongue, throat which may cause difficulty breathing, anaphylactic shock), bronchospasm, fever, severe skin reactions including Stevens-Johnson syndrome, toxic epidermal necrolysis, erythema multiforme.
