The fourth wave of COVID-19 will threaten Poland, experts have been warning for some time. Prof. Krzysztof J. Filipiak on TVN24 estimated that in the period from October to November there will be the highest number of infections. The expert made one important reservation. – The infections mainly affect those regions of the country where there is a low degree of vaccination – he explained on the air.
- Prof. Filipiak draws attention to – as he calls it – a large and a small “Bermuda triangle”. These are regions where vaccination coverage is low and the risk of overloading the healthcare system is exceptionally high
- According to the expert, it is the north-east of Poland, province. Lublin and Subcarpathia. He presented it on the map

– The largest increases (COVID-19 infections – ed.) Week to week are recorded in the province. in Lublin, Podlasie and Podkarpacie. And let me remind you that it is these three areas in Poland that have a dramatic degree of grafting. Sociologists even use terms such as the large Bermuda triangle. This is an area that connects the cities of Suwałki, Białystok and Ostrołęka – described the doctor.
He noted that cities are better vaccinated. – But everything in between, this is mainly the Grajewo, Łomża, and Kolno poviats – there we have a real tragedy if this large Bermuda triangle in the province. Podlasie – mentioned prof. Filipiak.

On his Facebook profile, Krzysztof J. Filipiak posted a recently modified map from the Kartografia Ekstremalna profile, on which he marked two “Bermuda triangles”. The big one is located in the north-east of Poland, and the small one mainly within the province. Lublin, but also touches on the province. Masovian Voivodeship:
As endangered COVID-19 and poorly vaccinated regions, the professor also mentioned the voivodeship Podkarpacie (excluding Rzeszów and the surrounding area and the Bieszczady Mountains), and gave the Kolbuszowski Poviat located in this region of Poland as an example of a dramatically low vaccination.
This is a real drama. There, overload of health care, health centers and also deaths are to be expected
He warned. He also cited data from Thursday: Of the ten people who died from COVID-19, eight were unvaccinated.
