Bibloc is a medicine that reduces the heart rate and the force of its contraction, and lowers blood pressure. It is widely used in cardiology. It is recommended especially in the treatment of ailments such as angina, arterial hypertension, and some cases of heart failure. The drug is available only upon presentation of a valid prescription. Depending on the facility and dose, the price of Bibloc varies from about PLN 9 to PLN 16.

Action, indications and dosage of the drug Bibloc

Lek Bibloc contains the active substance Bisoprolol and is available in several different strengths – 1,25 mg, 2,5 mg, 3,75 mg, 5 mg, 7,5 mg and 10 mg. The preparation protects the heart against too intense effort by reducing the frequency of its rhythm and the force of contraction. In addition, it increases blood flow in its vessels, thus improving oxygenation and lowering blood pressure. bibloc received a lot of positive feedback from doctors and patients in the treatment of high blood pressure, angina, which is a disease manifested by a feeling of breathlessness and chest pain, as well as some types of heart failure.

The doctor decides on the dose of the drug individually. For angina and arterial hypertension, the usual dose is 5 to 20 mg per day, while in chronic heart failure it starts with 1,25 mg and gradually increases to 10 mg per day.

Contraindications, side effects and drug interactions

Before using Bibloc, please read its leaflet carefully. The drug should not be taken if the patient is allergic to any of its ingredients. It is not recommended for people with cardiogenic shock, very low blood pressure, severe cardiac arrhythmias, untreated adrenal medulla tumor, less than 60 beats per minute, severe respiratory asthma. In addition, be careful and follow the doctor’s instructions if the patient is struggling with, inter alia, type 1 diabetes, severe liver and / or kidney dysfunction, congenital heart disease or a strict diet.

The preparation, like any other drug, can cause side effects and the most common are a slow heart rate, headache and dizziness, fatigue, constipation and diarrhea, nausea and vomiting, low blood pressure, a feeling of numbness or cold in the fingers and toes. In case of side effects, consult a doctor immediately.

Place Bibloc should not be taken with, for example, centrally acting antihypertensive drugs, class I antihypertensives, certain calcium antagonists. Caution should also be exercised when combining it with oral antidiabetic drugs and insulin, preparations used for general anesthesia, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, ergotamine derivatives, mefloquine, rifampicin, MAO inhibitors and many others.
