Beta Carotene-Chance – indications, dosage, contraindications, side effects

Beta Caroten-Chance is used in the prevention of complications related to vitamin A deficiency. It also works well in the spring and summer prophylaxis in people who are allergic to sunlight. The active substance of the preparation is beta-carotene. It protects the skin against the harmful effects of UV radiation and prevents the action of free radicals. The product is in the form of tablets to be taken orally.

Beta Carotene-Chance – indications and dosage

Beta Karoten-Chance is a preparation recommended:

  1. in preventing complications related to vitamin A deficiency,
  2. for prevention in the spring and summer in people who are hypersensitive to sunlight,
  3. supplementary for women taking oral contraceptives and on a slimming diet,
  4. supportive in the case of skin diseases associated with hypersensitivity to sunlight (erythropoietic protoporphyria),
  5. in inflammation of the skin and mucous membranes,
  6. in pigment disorders (e.g. vitiligo),
  7. in hypersensitivity to the sun’s rays,
  8. solar urticaria,
  9. in a cataract,
  10. in leukoplakia and atherosclerosis.

Dosage of the preparation

Beta Caroten-Chance is in the form of tablets to be taken by mouth. The use of the medicinal product is selected individually by the doctor.

Prophylactically.

  1. Adults and children after 12 years of age 1 tablet 1 × / d.
  2. Children 7-12. rż. 1 tablet every 2 days.

Beta Carotene-Chance and contraindications

Contraindications to the use of Beta Karoten-Chance are:

  1. hypervitaminosis A,
  2. severe renal or hepatic insufficiency,
  3. disturbance of absorption from the gastrointestinal tract,
  4. diarrhea,
  5. allergy to any ingredient of the preparation.

Beta Carotene-Chance – warnings

  1. Beta Karoten-Chance should not be used in patients with rare hereditary problems of galactose intolerance, the lactase deficiency or malabsorption of glucose-galactose.
  2. Due to the lack of data on the safety of using the preparation during pregnancy or breastfeeding, a doctor should be consulted before use.

Beta Carotene-Chance and other substances

  1. Betacarotene increases the toxic effect of parenteral neomycin.
  2. Betacarotene works synergistically with vitamins E and A (the preparations mutually enhance their effect).
  3. Absorption of the drug is inhibited by cholestyramine.
  4. Betacarotene may antagonize vitamin K, especially in people treated with oral anticoagulants or estrogens.
  5. Simultaneous intake of preparations containing iron weakens the effect of beta carotene.
  6. There should be an interval of several hours between the administration of these drugs.

Beta Carotene-Chance – side effects

Taking Beta Karoten-Chance may cause:

  1. mild diarrhea
  2. petechiae,
  3. joint pain,
  4. yellowing of the skin on the shoulder, arms and abdomen (carotenoderma),
  5. dizziness,
  6. allergic reactions.

These symptoms disappear when the treatment is discontinued.
