- How to choose a vibration pump
A vibration pump is a subspecies of a submersible pump: it is completely immersed in a liquid and suspended on a cable. Power is supplied to it via a rubberized cable, water goes up through an armored hose. The design does not have an electric motor and an impeller, however, such a simple device regularly pumps water from any reservoir, well or well. This type of pump is relatively inexpensive.

How to choose a vibration pump
The power unit of any vibration pump is an electromagnet consisting of a U-shaped steel core with a copper wire winding. An alternating current with a voltage of 220 V is supplied to it. As a result, an electromagnetic field with a frequency of 100 Hz is created. The core and coil are insulated with epoxy to prevent water penetration.
The armature under the influence of an electromagnetic field moves in the coil, then returns to its previous position. The movements are small, resembling vibration. They are transferred to a rod with a rubber washer installed at the opposite end, which plays the role of a piston. The performance and durability of the entire unit depends on its quality. The rod together with the piston vibrates inside the injection chamber, sucking water from the source and squeezing it out.
Liquid enters the chamber through check valves at the bottom of the housing. They do not allow water to be squeezed back, leaving it one way – to the outlet pipe. The device has practically no moving parts that require periodic maintenance or preventive maintenance.
Despite the commonality of the design, specific types of pumps differ greatly in their characteristics. Healthy Food Near Me turned to the online hypermarket expert Maxim Sokolov for help in choosing the device you need.
When choosing a submersible vibration pump, you need to pay attention to the following parameters:
- Performance shows the volume of water that the pump is able to pump per unit of time. For a preliminary calculation of the required value of this indicator, there are special tables. They take into account the number of water flow points in the form of sprinklers or sinks in the house, plus the debit of the well indicated in her passport. The minimum sufficient to ensure irrigation and the daily needs of summer residents is 360 l / h. A country house will need 1500 l / h. There are models that can provide twice as much productivity, up to 3000 l / h. Do not use a pump with a capacity greater than the flow rate of the well. This will lead to its periodic drying and washing out of clay particles, which will quickly disable the pump.
- Head characterizes the distance to which the pump is able to deliver water. This indicator varies from 40 to 90 m. To calculate, it is necessary to add up the immersion depth, the distance between the surface of the water in the well and the ground level, the length and height of the water supply to the end points of flow. And then add another 20% to the resulting value. The pressure is never too much. The outside diameter of the body must be smaller than the inside diameter of the well casing.
- Thermal protection necessary in order to ensure that the pump is turned off when the water source is drained. In this case, the electromagnet coil will fail due to overheating.
- Also desirable dry run protection, that is, turning on the pump in the absence of water.
- Water intake location. The pump inlet can be located at the top or bottom of the casing. In the first case, sand and clay from the bottom will not get into the water; such pumps are good for supplying water from wells and open reservoirs. They must be installed at a distance of more than 30 cm from the bottom. The second type of design is most often used in borehole pumps, because it allows to reduce the size of the casing to a minimum. But a minimum of a meter of water-filled well below the inlet filter is required.
A vibration pump is a reliable and simple unit that will supply your home or cottage with water without undue cost and effort. The correct choice and observance of the operating instructions is a guarantee that it will work for more than one year.
