Berodual N – dosage and action of the aerosol

Berodual is a drug that acts on the respiratory system – it relaxes the smooth muscles of the bronchi. The preparation is used in diseases of the bronchi and lungs, incl. asthma and bronchitis. Berodual is available on prescription.

Indications for the use of the drug Berodual

Berodual prevents and treats the symptoms of chronic obstructive airways diseases with reversible bronchospasm (bronchial asthma and chronic bronchitis with or without emphysema). The active substances of the drug are fenoterol (dilates the bronchi) i ipratropium.

Berodual – dosage

  1. Adults and adolescents over 14 years of age: Acute asthma attack: 1 ml (20 drops) is usually the dose sufficient for immediate relief of mild to moderate symptoms. In severe cases, doses up to 2,5 ml (up to 50 drops) may be needed. In particularly severe cases and only under the supervision of a doctor, you can administer up to 4 ml (up to 80 drops). Periodic and long-term treatment: 1-2 ml (20-40 drops) for each administration up to four times a day Moderate bronchospasm or artificial ventilation: smaller doses of up to 0,5 ml (up to 10 drops) are recommended.

Contraindications to the use of the drug Berodual

Contraindications to the use of Berodual are:

  1. hypersensitivity to any component of the preparation or atropine-like substances,
  2. obstructive hypertrophic cardiomyopathy,
  3. abnormal heart rhythm with a fast heart beat (tachyarrhythmia).
