The active substance of Benzacne gel is benzoyl peroxide. 1 g of gel contains 50 mg or 100 mg of this substance. In addition, Benzacne also contains carbomer, sodium hydroxide and purified water.

Benzacne is an anti-acne gel that should be applied topically to the skin lesions. The active substance Benzacne, i.e. benzoyl peroxide, penetrates the skin and easily reaches the stratum corneum, where it prevents the growth of Propionibacterium acnes anaerobic bacteria, which are responsible for the appearance of acne vulgaris. In addition, Benzacne has an exfoliating effect, preventing the formation of blackheads on the skin.

Benzacne – indications
The indication for the use of Benzacne gel is acne vulgaris.
Benzacne – dosage
Benzacne is a gel intended for topical use on acne lesions appearing on the skin. According to the manufacturer’s recommendations, children over 12 years of age and adults should use Benzacne gel 1-2 times a day. Before applying the gel, wash and dry the skin. Then, apply a small amount of gel to acne-prone skin and massage it in gently.
The visible improvement of the skin condition is noticeable after approx. 2-3 weeks of using Benzacne gel with a benzoyl peroxide content of 50 mg / g. After this time, if necessary, you can continue the treatment with a gel containing 100 mg of benzoyl peroxide in 100 g. Always wash your hands thoroughly after applying the drug to the skin.

Benzacne – contraindications
Benzacne gel should not be used if a person is hypersensitive to the active substance or any of the ingredients of the drug. If allergic symptoms appear, discontinue use. In addition, if a patient develops eczema, chronic dermatitis or skin burns, including after skin contact with strong sun, Benzacne gel should not be used.
There are also no data on the possibility that the active substance Benzacne passes into breast milk. Benzacne should also not be used on the mammary gland in breastfeeding women.
Pregnant or breastfeeding women should not take any medications on their own, so consult your doctor or pharmacist before using Benzacne gel. Unfortunately, the effects of benzoyl peroxide on the fetus have not been investigated in human and animal studies. There is therefore no data on the safety of using Benzacne. The drug is only indicated if the doctor decides that the benefits of using it outweigh the possible risks.
Benzacne has no influence on driving vehicles and the use of machines. It should also be remembered not to use in children under 12 years of age.

Benzacne – side effects
Benzacne gel like all medicines, it can cause side effects, but you should remember that they will not happen to everyone. When using the drug, pay attention to the following side effects at the site of gel application:
- dryness or excessive peeling of the skin;
- reddening of the skin;
- a feeling of warmth or slight stinging.
The above symptoms may appear during the first week of using Benzacne gel. However, it is worth remembering that these symptoms are not an indication for stopping treatment. When the above symptoms appear, it is enough to apply less frequently Benzacic to the skin.

Benzacne – precautions

When applying Benzacne gel, certain precautions should also be taken with sensitive skin, such as the neck. It is also worth avoiding contact with the sun and UV radiation, e.g. a solarium. Benzacne can cause hair or fabric discoloration.
Benzacne – storage
