At the birth of twins, the assistance is somewhat different from that which is paid in connection with the birth of one baby.
Employed mother of twins benefits
If, before the maternity leave, the mother was officially employed, then first of all she has the right to receive assistance in connection with pregnancy and childbirth. This allowance is paid at the expense of the enterprise where the woman worked. Its size depends on the average salary of the mother, but the minimum amount is 50 thousand rubles.
The benefits for the birth of twins are lump-sum and monthly.
In addition, a woman with twins is entitled to the following assistance:
- Allowance supplement. Women who are registered before the 12th week of pregnancy can count on this payment. The amount of the allowance differs in different regions, the maximum amount is 580 rubles.
- Lump-sum birth allowance. If twins appeared in the family, then the parents have the right to count on the amount of material assistance in 33 thousand rubles.
- Care allowance. Paid until babies reach the age of one and a half years. Calculated from the mother’s average salary over the past two years. The minimum amount for the first child is 3, for the second – 000 rubles.
In addition, parents of twins have the right to count on maternity capital if they did not take this payment for previous children. The amount of the allowance is fixed and amounts to 453 thousand rubles.
What benefits are given to a non-working mother
An unemployed mother of twins has the right to receive financial assistance in connection with pregnancy and childbirth, only if she has officially registered the status of unemployed. Then she is entitled to a minimum charge of 613 rubles for each month of the decree. In addition, a woman can count on the following benefits:
- Help in connection with childbirth. The mother of twins will be paid 33 thousand rubles.
- Benefit for children under one and a half years old. A similar allowance is paid in the amount of 3 rubles for the first and 000 rubles for the second baby.
There are several benefits for the birth of twins. In addition, parents of babies should contact the social security authorities, because in some regions additional payments are provided. For example, in Moscow and the region, parents of twins, regardless of their status, are paid a one-time governor’s allowance, the amount of which reaches 200 thousand rubles, and in Novgorod, parents of twins can count on 400 thousand rubles.
