There is no single definition of the status of large families in the country, but in some regions it is assigned after the birth or adoption of a third baby, and in others the fourth or fifth.
The amount of support for large families depends on the region
Such families are subject to standard types of assistance, but there are some peculiarities in the calculation. They can count on the following benefits:
- One-time. This payment is not differentiated depending on the number of children and is calculated upon birth. Now the amount is more than 16 thousand rubles, it is constantly indexed, and at the regional level it is increasing.
- For child care. The payment is received monthly by one of the parents until the baby is one and a half years old. The size at the birth of the second and subsequent baby is more than 6 thousand rubles.
- Up to 16 or 18 years old. It is paid monthly in some constituent entities of the Federation and can be increased for large families.
- Preparing for school. This regional payment is for the purchase of school supplies.
- Compensation payment. It serves to compensate for the costs of food, accommodation, training.
The procedure for assigning assistance in the regions is different, they may establish additional payments, which can be found out in the local offices of the Department of Social Protection of the Population.
Maternity capital per child
After the birth of the second and subsequent baby, the mother or father is issued a certificate in the amount of 453 thousand rubles. This money can be used to buy housing, get an education, or go into the mother’s funded pension. A family certificate is issued only once.
In the constituent entities of the Federation, at the birth of a third child, regional maternity capital is provided, the amount of which is determined by local laws.
For large families, a number of privileges and monetary indulgences are provided in the form of discounts on housing and communal services and public services, the purchase of fuel for houses without central heating, and construction subsidies. The tax deduction is increased for parents with three kids, the possibility of early establishment of an insurance pension is provided, and the possibility of obtaining a land plot free of charge is given.
