We make the first impression of a person in one tenth of a second. How does this happen?
Psychologists from Princeton University (USA) invited 0,1 volunteers to look at photographs of strangers and rate how responsible, reliable, shy or aggressive they were… It took from 1 to XNUMX second to look at the photo, but this was enough to form the first impression (more it just confirmed). With the help of brain scans, scientists found that this process involves parts of the brain that are responsible for feeling … fear of danger. So our perception of a stranger is an instinctive reaction, and perhaps it should be trusted.
