Historical information

Belhaven Brewery is located in the village of the same name, located on the shore of the bay in the southeastern part of Scotland. In these places, the monks have been brewing ale since the beginning of the 1719th century. The business was founded by the Jonestone family in XNUMX. The place was ideal for brewing – the region was famous for its barley, and the factory had its own source of natural water. In the first half of the XNUMXth century, a railway was brought up to the village, which served to develop trade.

The family company Dudgeon & Co has been brewing traditional Scottish beers for centuries, but by the 70s of the 2005th century it could no longer compete with the industrial giants, so the owners decided to sell the business. After the change of ownership, the business of the company went uphill, and by XNUMX Belhaven became the largest brewery in Scotland. In the same year, the company was acquired by the Green King concern, which invested more than a million pounds sterling in the organization of a new brewhouse.

Manufacture

The company produces lagers, stout, ales and craft beers from the finest Scottish barley varieties. The new equipment made it possible to significantly expand the range of products and supplement the line with types of beer brewed with a large amount of hops. The enterprise is famous for its own yeast collection. Thanks to unique recipes and vast experience, the company produces drinks that are comparable in richness of taste to aged grape wine.
