The taste of such a salad turns out to be more interesting and deep, and for preparation, the minimum amount of ingredients is also required.

To make this salad, you will need: – 3 medium-sized beetroots; – 50 g of walnuts; – salt to taste; – a small bunch of dill; – 250 g mayonnaise.

The availability of products makes this recipe especially attractive, as does the simplicity of its preparation, since most of the time is spent on boiling beets, and the rest of the process takes a matter of minutes.

How to make beetroot salad with nuts

To make a salad with beets and walnuts, wash the roots thoroughly and trim the tops, if any. Place the beets in a saucepan and cover with water so that they completely cover the vegetables, do not peel them first. Simmer the beets for about two hours.

If you want it to retain its bright and rich color, then add a few drops of vinegar or lemon juice to the pan when cooking. The cooking time largely depends on the size of the beets, the larger it is, the longer it will take to cook, but in no case should you cut it, otherwise not only the color, but also the taste of the root crop will be lost. It is very simple to determine the readiness of beets: if, when pierced with a knife, the latter enters the pulp easily, then it is cooked.

After turning off the heat, the pot of beets can be placed under running cold water. This action will not only cool her down, but will also help her to get ready. When the beets have cooled, peel and grate them with medium holes, place the beets in a salad bowl. Add chopped nuts, previously shelled, dill and salt there. All that remains is to fill the salad with nuts with mayonnaise – and you can serve it on the table.

Variations on this recipe

If the walnut salad prepared according to the recipe described above is already boring, you can make some changes to it, transforming the taste. It will become completely new if you prepare a salad of beets with raisins and nuts, or add not only walnuts, but also other nuts to it. Pine nuts and crushed almonds are no less interesting in the salad. You can experiment with refueling too. A lighter salad will turn out if you replace mayonnaise with a mixture of olive oil, lemon juice and vinegar, which must be mixed in equal proportions.
