Beer with spices, herbs, vegetables (Spice, Herb, or Vegetable Beer)

This category includes different types of beer with any fruit, ranging from aromatic herbs to nuts or cocoa beans. It is important that the selected ingredients should not be cloyingly sweet (in which case they should be combined with other additives) and should not drown out the bouquet of the base. Spices and herbs are selected so that they organically complement the base beer, improving and enriching its taste.

Both aroma and bouquet depend on the base beer and the chosen additives, the color may change slightly under the influence of brightly colored additives. Foaming remains within the base style or slightly deteriorates. There may be an increase in bitterness, but usually the malt-hop balance remains within the chosen style.

Depending on the additional ingredients, the beer can acquire a tart taste, become more full-bodied. Density, strength and other characteristics depend on the base.
