Beer with fruits and spices (Fruit and Spice Beer)

As the name implies, this is a base beer of any style with the addition of fruits and spices. The main thing here is not to overdo it so that the additives do not overlap the characteristics of the beer itself, so additional ingredients and their quantity are always selected individually. Fruity and spicy profiles should be in balance with malt and hops.

Separate fruity and spicy notes can be felt, but this is not a mandatory style requirement, just a general “fruity-spicy” bouquet is possible, without an obvious division into nuances.

The intensity of aroma and taste depends on the ingredients. Due to the extra fermented sugar, the beer is usually lighter and drier than the prototype, and the spices can add bitterness. The color depends on the base, but may change slightly under the influence of fruit, most often the beer remains transparent.

It sometimes feels tart on the tongue, slightly fuller than the base beer. Density, strength and other characteristics depend on the base.
