It has long been known that physical attractiveness provides certain advantages in communication. But do they always show up?
In ordinary, everyday conditions, we really prefer to communicate with an attractive stranger of the opposite sex, and when choosing interlocutors of the same sex, we prefer not beautiful, but kind (according to external impressions) people. In a stressful situation, both men and women always prefer those who give the impression of a kind person. A study led by Norman P. Li, professor at the University of Austin (USA), confirms our everyday experience: when you need to rely on a person in a difficult situation, beauty does not play any role.
