Going to a seaside resort, sunbathing and actively relaxing on the beach, it is logical to wonder what scent to take with you. The correct answer is: let the beach smell like sea and sun, salty skin and tanning. If you think that this is not enough, read on and make the hard choice!
However, any exhortations are useless here. The options for abstaining from aromatization seem to many of our compatriots to be a rejection of beauty. So, let’s start with the conservative reasoning that the skin should be protected in the sun, and therefore, it is better to apply the fragrance on the hair, on a pareo, a scarf or a scarf on the head in order to avoid any photochemical reactions.
What should be the fragrances themselves? It is most correct to follow the traditions of the peoples who constantly live in the same beach area, in the bright sun, by the sea. Their traditions have been verified for centuries. Italians and Spaniards prefer citrus colognes with different variations – fresh, bitter, with flowers and herbs. From this group we can advise, for example, Cologne (Thierry Mugler), Acqua di Parma, Maestrale (Profumo di Pantelleria), Eau de Campagne (Sisley), Eau des Merveilles (Hermes), Agua Brava (Puig), Eau d`Hadrien (Annick Goutal), Eau de Guerlain. Colognes, as traditionally refreshing, simple and light fragrances, are found in the line of many perfume houses. You just need to choose the one that will be perfect for you.
Hindus traditionally use vetiver as a cooling agent in dry, hot summers. Mats woven from filamentous roots hang from the windows and are sprayed with water, sugar syrup with vetiver oil served with ice water. The bitter earthy scent of vetiver with a citrus tinge is perfect for the beach, if you don’t consider its densest and most intense versions. Usually this note is more common in men’s fragrances, but we would venture to offer girls a light Cologne Vettiveru (Comme des Garcons), a floral Vetiver pour elle (Guerlain), a slightly spicy KenzoAir (Kenzo).
The characteristic freshness of fig leaves, despite its simplicity and popularity in narrow circles, is great for hot summer and linen clothes: Premier Figuer (L`Artisan), Philosykos (Diptyque), Un Jardins Mediterranee (Hermes), Jardins des Kerylos (Parfumerie Generale ) and others.

Considering the floral theme traditional for summer, for hot weather I want to choose not sweet, not soapy and not spicy, but the most realistic fresh flowers. For example, linden and bird cherry flowers – Tilleul (Parfums d`Orsay), iris – 28 La Pausa (Chanel), honeysuckle flowers – Chevrefeuille (Annick Goutal).
Modern perfumery knows enough ways to portray the freshness of the sea or mountain air. Without going into details, let’s just list some of the fragrances: Odeur 53 (Comme des Garcons), Sandflowers (Montale), Himalaya (Creed), Secretions Magnifiques (Etat Libre d`Orange), Eau d`Italie, Preparation Parfumee (Andree Putmann) and a myriad of other scents. As a rule, their durability leaves much to be desired, but they are perfect for the beach, shading the sea freshness with perfume shades.

And a couple more words. Don’t forget that a warm evening will come after a day at the beach. And for a party or for a romantic dinner, you should “wear” a different flavor, for example, oriental direction. A great excuse to use your favorite perfumes from Serge Lutens, Guerlain or Caron.
