Bauknecht washing machine error codes – what to do

Error code Value The cause of How to fix the situation FH There is no water in the tank. Why did the FN error appear on the scoreboard:

• There is no water in the tap.
• Clogged filling system.
• Problems with the pressure sensor.
• Pump failure.

What do we have to do:

1. Check water supply valve. Unscrew it to full power.
2. Inspect the inlet hose for kinks or blockages. Also check the strainer and filler valve.
3. Check sensor tube for blockage. Replace sensor if defective.
4. Inspect and install a new pump.

F02 The code means that there is no water drain for 4 minutes. The Bauknecht washing machine gives an F02 error if:

• There is a blockage in the drain system.
• The pump wiring is broken.
• A pump malfunction has occurred.

The solution:

1. Try to remove the error by pressing 2 times “PAUSE / CANCEL”.
2. Check and clear the drain hose, nozzle, pump filter and pump itself of blockages.
3. Check the pump wiring. Damaged parts must be isolated or the cable changed.
4. Replace pump if broken.

F05 Thermal sensor failure. Causes:

1. Thermal sensor malfunction.
2. Malfunctions with the heater relay (heater).

To reset the F05 error, check the condition of the temperature sensor and its contacts with the heater and the heating element relay. F06 Code F06 is on if the Hall sensor of the engine has failed. What is the reason for the error code:

• The connections are broken, the contacts between the engine and the control unit have gone.
• Engine malfunction.

How to solve a problem:

1. Tighten the motor contacts with the module.
2. Check the integrity of the wiring.
3. Inspect the engine, in case of malfunction, install a new part.

The triac of the electric motor burned out. The triac on the control board, which is responsible for the operation of the SMA engine, is faulty. How to fix the situation:

1. Inspect the contacts and wiring between the board and the motor.
2. Check the board and triac for damage. It is necessary to repair the board and replace the triac.

F12

Problems with heating element SM. Reasons for the appearance of the F08 or F12 code on the SM Bauknecht screen:

• Faulty heating element.
• The heating element wiring is broken.

Your actions:

1. Check heater and wiring.
2. Change element.

F09 Too much water in the tank. What happened:

• Blockage in drain hose, filter or pump.
• Inlet valve problem.
• Pressure switch failure.

What to do:

1. Clean out the drain system.
2. Replace inlet valve.
3. Install a new pressure switch.

F10 The motor heat sink has signaled to the MCU. Why is this happening:

• There is no proper ventilation.
• Violation of the connecting circuit of the motor and the board.
• Failure of the engine.
• Breakage of the main unit.

How to decide:

1. Remove CM from closely spaced heating elements. Ensure proper ventilation.
2. Check connections.
3. Inspect or replace the motor.
4. Replacing the main unit.

F11 Disruption of contacts between the engine and the control panel. The wiring was damaged, the connections came off, the contacts burned out. Check connecting elements and replace. F13 Dispenser malfunction (water distribution mechanism). Problems with the connections or the dispenser itself. Check connections and dispenser. F14 Non-volatile memory (EEPROM) failure A short circuit has broken the board.

Reboot the washer by unplugging it for 15-20 minutes.

Look at the board.

South  Too much foam. SUDS LOCK protection has been triggered. Causes of an error in the SMA:

• Irregular use of powder.
• The drain system is clogged.
• The pressure switch is faulty.
• Problems with the electronic module.

Self solution:

1. Review the dosing of detergents.
2. Check and clean the drain system: hose, filter and pump.
3. Change pressure switch.
4. Repair or replacement of the main module.

FdL Problems closing the hatch door. Because of which:

• A foreign object is preventing the door from closing.
• Broken mechanical lock or handle.
• Faulty electronic lock (UBL).

How to fix:

1. Press the door firmly. Check if clothes are stuck between hatch and door.
2. Installation of a working lock, handle or UBL (electronic lock).

FdU Jammed door.

1. The lock broke.

2. Faulty electronic lock.

3. Connections to the module are broken, or the electronic board is faulty.

All items are checked, broken items are replaced.
