Adding herbs to the bath while bathing is not only a therapeutic procedure, but also a cosmetic one. Herbal infusions and skin tone and help get rid of various irritations and inflammations, and the body is tuned to more accurate and correct work. But in order for such herbs to have a beneficial effect on the human body, they must be properly brewed before bathing.
Most often, herbal baths are arranged for bathing newborn babies. After all, their skin is especially delicate and vulnerable: milk, sweat, and particles of dead skin accumulate on it. As a result, this can lead to quite serious problems in the form of diaper rash, redness and other defects. Herbs help prevent all of this. But only on condition that they were brewed correctly.
Methods for brewing medicinal herbs
The leader in use is chamomile. After all, it is this plant that has the most beneficial effect on the skin, acting quite gently. A decoction from the flowers of this plant promotes rapid healing of wounds and eliminates irritations, and also helps to relieve tension.
Doctors say that chamomile baths are especially useful for girls (this also applies to women) for the prevention or treatment of gynecological diseases.
Making chamomile infusion is not that difficult. For him you will need: – 1 tbsp. chamomile herbs (you can replace it with a couple of filter bags); – 1 liter of boiling water.
Pour boiling water over the herb and leave to infuse for 10 minutes. If you use the herb directly, strain the broth before use so that small particles do not additionally irritate the skin. If you used filter bags, everything is simpler – you just need to pull them out of the broth. After brewing, pour the broth into a tray, the water should turn out to be slightly colored.
Another popular herb for bathing babies is streak. It is especially effective for the appearance of allergic reactions on the skin, diathesis in infants and older children. For brewing, you can use both the herb itself and ready-made filter bags. Average dosage: 3 tablespoons. herbs or 6 ready-made filter bags for 10 liters of water. Based on this recommendation, you need to calculate the appropriate dosage.

Put the entire structure on fire and simmer over low heat, stirring constantly, for 15 minutes. Then leave to steep for 45 minutes. Then pour into the bath, having previously filtered.

Pour boiling water over the herb and let it brew for 20 minutes. Then pour the resulting infusion into the bath.
Using herbal preparations
Herbal preparations also have a beneficial effect on human skin. The main thing is to select those that will have the most beneficial effect, but will not ruin the skin. With colic and increased nervous excitability, you can use not only the infusion of valerian, but also a complex collection, which consists of:
- 2 tbsp motherwort herbs
- 2 tbsp bearberry
Another collection is as follows:
- 1 tbsp St. John’s wort;
- 1 tbsp nettle;
- 1 tbsp motherwort;
- 1 tbsp. l. bearberry.
Such decoctions are best prepared in a water bath. To do this, pour the herbs into one container, pour boiling water and put it in another container, where you also pour boiling water. Cook for 15 minutes over low heat, then leave to infuse for about an hour.
If you are not sure about dosages and brewing methods, carefully study the packaging from medicinal plants. On it, as a rule, instructions for brewing a remedy are detailed.
