Barrister

Barrister (Barrister) is a Russian-made gin, which is produced in St. Petersburg by the Ladoga company, which is one of the top producers and distributors of alcoholic beverages in Russia. The brand took first place in terms of sales in the country in 2018, ahead of the world-famous brands Beefeater and Gordon’s.

History of the brand

The Ladoga company was founded in St. Petersburg in 1995. The company owns a distillery, designed for the annual production of up to 5 million decaliters of alcohol. The company is the industry leader in the production of premium tinctures, liqueurs and liquors. For strong alcohol, high-purity alcohol “Lux” is used on the basis of cereals grown in ecologically clean areas.

Suppliers are selected by a commission that regularly visits Russian distilleries to assess product quality. Experts pay attention to the conditions of cultivation of grain crops and the peculiarities of preparing raw materials for processing. A mixture of rye and wheat of high-starchy varieties, compiled in certain proportions, is used in production.

Water enters the enterprise from Lake Ladoga. The plant has a purification system that removes unwanted impurities and saturates the water with mineral components that improve the taste. A whole staff of technologists is working on the recipes of drinks. Berries, fruits, herbs and spices are supplied by large procurement organizations in Russia.

Production features

Barrister gin is produced using separate distillation technology. First, alcohol is insisted on juniper berries, lemon zest, coriander, cinnamon, cumin, anise and cardamom. Aromatic spirits are mixed in a blend according to an old English recipe.

The design of the brand was carried out by the branding agency Runwey. Barristers are a category of high-ranking lawyers in the UK, so an aristocratic vintage style was chosen for the design. The label is decorated with an image of a juniper twig and an ornate inscription, indicating the high quality of the drink.
