Children and adolescents are also increasingly obese, which is caused, among others, by a sedentary lifestyle, irregular meals and, above all, highly processed food, which contains large amounts of sugar and unhealthy fats. For years, research has been conducted in the world on the treatment of obesity, both in adults and in children. It may not always be helpful to change your lifestyle or go on a proper diet. Sometimes even very restrictive diets may turn out to be insufficient, especially when the disease is caused by genetic factors. What is bariatric surgery?

Bariatric surgery is a method of fighting obesity. However, it is not commonly used, but only in extreme situations, when there is no other treatment option or previous treatment attempts have not brought the expected results. Bariatric surgery is a surgical method, so after it is performed, special precautions should be taken and work on full recovery and good shape.

There is a division into:

What are the types of bariatric surgery?

There are some contraindications to complete bariatric surgery. We have already mentioned some of them in the previous paragraph. Rather, this type of procedure is not performed on minors, and if it does, it is done only in special cases. In addition, it is worth emphasizing that an extremely important issue when it comes to bariatric operationsis to follow specific medical recommendations after the procedure.
