Botanical characteristics of sheep

Baranets

Baranets (lat. Huperzia selago) belongs to the Lycopodiaceae family. It belongs to the evergreen herbaceous plants, has a wide range of therapeutic effects. The stem of the ram is erect, strictly stretching upwards, reaching 30 cm in length. Leaves, or phylloids, are closely spaced, in many rows, have a needle-like, linear-lanceolate, entire shape, up to 1 mm wide. At the base, the leaves are expanded, towards the edge – serrated, rich green in color.

Sporangia are located in the middle or upper part of the stem or in the axils of the leaves; spore-bearing spikelets (strobili) are not born. Spores form in June. Buds form at the top of the stem, protecting themselves with small leaves. When autumn comes, the buds fall off. The root system of the sheep is undeveloped, weak.
