Baneocin is a medicinal preparation in the form of an ointment intended for topical external application. The drug consists of two active substances: neomycin and bacitracin. The indication for the use of the drug Baneocin there are infections of small fragments of the skin: small wounds, frostbites, burns infested with bacteria. A small amount of the ointment is applied to the affected areas so that it forms a thin layer on the wound surface. This place can be protected with a clean dressing. The treated wound should not be exposed Baneocin sunlight as this may cause an allergic reaction. Do not rub the ointment by force or try to apply it to the places where the wound is deep. Due to the presence of active substances with a strong effect, it is not recommended to use the ointment for more than 7 days.

Baneocin – contraindications and side effects

An absolute contraindication for use Baneocin is hypersensitive or allergic to the active substances, as well as to any of the excipients and other ingredients of the preparation. The drug must not be used on large areas of the skin and on extensive and severe skin lesions. Baneocin It is not intended for patients suffering from heart, kidney and liver disorders as well as hearing impairment and hearing organs damage. You cannot apply Baneocin for mucous membranes, deep wounds, oozing wounds, and severe burns. Long-term use may reveal the nephro- and ototoxic effects of neomycin, i.e. the active substance – therefore it is forbidden to use the drug for more than 7 days in a row, and high doses should be avoided.

Side effects that may occur during treatment with the preparation Baneocin, include skin rashes, erythema, edema and other allergic-type reactions. When the preparation is applied to large areas of the skin, there may be a risk of systemic symptoms, such as impaired hearing and labyrinthine, damage or dysfunction of the kidneys. The risk of side effects increases with time and dose Baneocin. The drug should not be used by children under 12 years of age, as well as pregnant women, unless the mother’s condition is so serious that the doctor decides otherwise.
