The advantages of a banana diet for weight loss lie primarily in the fact that bananas contain a lot of useful substances and at the same time have cleansing properties – they remove toxins and stimulate the intestines. Bananas are rich in vitamins, as well as valuable potassium, which has a beneficial effect on the metabolic process and skin condition.

Another obvious plus of the banana diet is the fact that, unlike unsalted rice, cabbage, or, say, buckwheat, eating bananas is a pleasure. In addition, this is a very satisfying fruit, so you should not be afraid of feeling hungry, especially if you decide to lose weight using a banana diet for more than two to three days.

The disadvantages of the banana diet for weight loss can be attributed only to the paucity of the diet (but this disadvantage applies to all mono-diets), so people with various chronic diseases are better off forgetting about this method of losing weight.

What kind of bananas are suitable for a diet?

Not all fruits are suitable for a banana diet in the context of weight loss. For example, you should avoid eating green or overly strong bananas that do not seem ripe, as well as small bananas (common in some Asian countries).

Ripe, soft, fresh fruits with a bright yellow skin should be chosen. The fruits should be cleaned thoroughly, removing not only the peel, but also the white threads. In addition, dried bananas are not suitable for a banana diet – they are several times higher in calories than fresh fruits! The same goes for fried bananas. So – only fresh ripe large yellow bananas are suitable for a diet, it is they who help us lose weight quickly.

Banana Diet: 3-Day Option

It is believed that the banana diet for quick weight loss is a relatively easy way to lose the extra pounds gained, for example, over the winter. But it should be remembered that the banana mono diet has a time limit.

The first recommended period for losing weight with bananas is 3 days. In this option, it is allowed to consume only 3-4 fruits per day, alternating them with skim milk or kefir. The scheme is as follows: you eat one banana, after an hour and a half you drink a glass of milk or kefir. After 2 hours – banana again. An hour and a half later – again milk or kefir. The last appointment is no later than 20 hours.

Option for the weekly banana diet for weight loss

The weekly banana diet regimen is considered to be more forgiving. Nevertheless, it also allows you to lose up to 1 kg per day. In this case, no additives are allowed – we eat only bananas, but in any quantity.

Of the drinks on the banana diet, only still water and leafy green tea are allowed. If hunger torments you, eat another banana. And if the banana “does not go down the throat” – it means that you are not really hungry, but simply the body requires variety, which can be postponed until the end of the diet.

It only remains to add that banana diets are not the only effective fruit diets. You can also lose weight quickly on an apple diet or, say, on a grapefruit diet. In a word – there is always a choice! And including – among the fruits!
